There are a number of variables, how the rifle fits you, length of the scope, barrel contour etc. having the rifle in hand makes for a much easier job of putting a scope on it as far as what rings. If you have to keep the scope far back you might need higher rings for the objective bell to clear the thicker chamber area of the barrel. The shape of your face will have a lot of influence also..
