may have been a long time coming
i'm not suggesting its not at least somewhat politically motivated, but colt's ar market share has been down for a long time now.
and lets be honest - for what they've been getting for their AR's... you can buy one helluva premium product over what they're selling their name stamped into for the same $.
seriously who - maybe other than die hard colt collectors and fanboys - would spend $1k or more for a basic mil-spec m4 carbine from them, when you could get a very nice premium grade bughole shooting ar for the same $$ from half a dozen sources..
