2018 is about over and I was thinking back about the fun times I had with kids fishing some local waters. One local creek produced some trout (stocked by DGIF), bluegill, and smallmouth. Hit the river for a few more smallmouth, then a close by farm pond for some largemouth. Regardless of the fish species or size, we sure had some fun. Here’s some photos of our outings, some have been shared already but there some new ones too.
This does bring back some memories. I actually took my kids fishing at night, because I found out that fishing at night is a whole new world. We all enjoy fish here, right? Most of the posts I come across are all about fishing during the day. Hello? What about night time fishing? It's a whole different world. I did find myself some fishing quite often at night. It is enjoyable, but, it's obviously hard to see much. I've been lurking the forums and whatnot, but I did not once see this topic pop up. So, please be so kind and hear me out, the things you need to know are actually quite simple - glow in the dark fishing lures. If you're not too well acquainted with what I'm talking about, you will see a more detailed explanation on http://huntingfishingplus.com/best-glow-in-the-dark-fishing-lures/. When you think about it, you can actually use the light of the lure to your advantage at night. The glow effect is highly enticing for predatory fish. As I said it's a whole new world, but I am not too much of a professional in it. In case you're interested you can check out which lures work best underwater:
I sure hope this word of night fishing will spread around.
The kids will definitely remember that night. We've been to many day time fishing trips but to try this at night was so fun, so much new experience.
