22 Creedmoor

Has anyone tried any RL26 in their 22 Creed??? I'd think RL26 would be a top performer with regard to velocity in this size case.

Are you running the 75gr Amax very close to touching or are you running them off the lands a bit? I've mostly only shot 75gr VLD's and they like to be real close to the lands but I'd like to play around with some 75gr Amax and was curious where these are shooting best for you.

If I remember correctly I'm .015 off the lands with the 75 Amax...

Rl26 will be a bit to slow, I think and will not work as well as Rl17 or the coveted Rl16, now That would likely be THE ticket. Rl16.........If you can find some.

I did. Speed was good, accuracy wasn’t. Went to H4350 and never looked back.

24” barrel; 1-8” twist; Hornady brass; 80.5 Berger at 3440fps
The same set up with Alpha 22cm headstamp brass was as follows:
Alpha 22cm brass 80.5 h4350
41.0 = 3365
41.1 = 3392
41.2 = 3395
41.3 = 3397
41.4 = 3410 ejector swipe
41.5 = 3410 no swipe
41.6 = 3432 ejector swipe

Alpha 22cm 69gr TMK
41.4 = 3495 SD 18.5
41.8 = 3516 SD 12.0
42.2 = 3535 SD 4.3
42.6 = 3572 SD 11.5
43.0 = 3610 one shot major ejector sticky bolt aborted last 2

These numbers echo mine very closely, with the same bullet being pushed by Varget in Hornady cases.

IN something like this with such a short barrel life...I am of the opinion that once I find a load that works, I stick with it. For me, the Varget/69TMK was almost an accident, but its showing good numbers, and superb accuracy. I figure I will just keep shooting it and killing stuff.

I found my 22x47 load within 20 minutes and I’m still shooting it 300 rounds later. I agree it wasn’t worth burning up a bunch of barrel life.
