Another New Guy!
I've been lurking for quite a while and finally joined yesterday. Been calling predators for about 6 years now and it has become my passion. A close second is bird hunting with my 2 German Shorthaired Pointers. I look forward to learning from the posts and hope i can contribute a bit myself.

Hi everyone. My name is Steve. I live is South Wales, United Kingdom. I am 54 years old, and have been shooting since the age of 11. I started off, like most kids, with an air pistol, then air rifle. When it was legal, I used to own many handguns, inc, 357 magnum, 44 magnum and smaller calibers. I now own quite a few rifles/shotguns. My favourites are my Sako 75 (22-250)Tikka T3 Lite (.243) Parker Hale (.308) Ruger 10/22 and CZ452 (17 HMR)My shotguns, are, Escort magnum 12 gauge, Lanber O/U 12 gauge,Greener GP 12 gauge and a few .410's. I usually hunt vermin, which, in Wales consists of, Fox, Rabbit,Crow,Rook, Jackdaw,Magpie and Wood Pigeon. I also go after rats, mice, moles and voles. My other shooting interest is deer stalking. I stalk Roe, Fallow and muntjac.
I am an avid collector of hunting/shooting dvd's,and have 260 to date. I'm always on the lookout for more, especially from the USA. I look forward to viewing this site, whenever I get the chance. If anyone would like to ask me a question, then please feel free to do so.

New guy checking in here - and I already have a rant..

I've been lurking on this site for a few months now and thanks to everyone here, I have purchased: a DPMS LR243-L, Foxpro Spitfire, Ultrafire G4 flashlight + accessories, and an Outlaw Sling. This place is bad for my wallet!!

Oh and I'm also in the process of building a reloading bench so I can work up some loads for various rifles - the aforementioned .243, a pre-64 M70 in .222 Rem, a Savage .22-250, and a .270 wsm. So there goes some more money down the drain!

/rant

That being said - I'm 24, graduated from Texas A&M last year and am now trying to get my foot in the door for flying with the Air National Guard. I currently live in north Houston so anyone near here who would like to show me some hunting spots feel free!

New here from Southwest Virginia (not West Virginia...anymore)

I've been hunting since 77 or so. I moved to Virginia 5 years ago and have decided to take up some new critter hunting. We have wild hogs and more than enough coyotes to keep a person busy. I've been looking for an actual use for my AR's for a few years now and I think I have a reason for them. I'm looking to get a 6.8 or something upper to have a little more ummmpth and something in the AR platform that's legal to deer hunt with.

Another new guy here from Western Arizona. Going to be getting into Coyote hunting this winter here.

I'm 29 with a wife and 2 kids (both boys, 6 & 4). Work for myself and enjoy shooting and fishing along with off-roading and computers. Great combination of hobbies huh???

This site has a TON of information in it and I intend to investigate every square inch of it!!!

I'm 23, just got into hunting about 3 years ago. Never had the chance before that.
Just got out of the army earlier this year after 4 years and am going to school, working, and thinking of setting up my own little business.

I've already learned a lot the little time I've been here.

I'm 32 and have been actively hunting coyotes for the last year. I have always had a dream of calling them in since I was young. This year I have shot 16. This morning I had the kids with me -Twins 8yo. We made the rounds "scouting" and asking for permission to hunt on several large farms. I will hit the new places up next weekend when the kids have a sitter.

I hunt with lots of different rifles. And have had success with all of them.

savage 17 hmr
savage bolt .223
s&w m&p15t .223
700 6mm rem
700 270 win
springfied 1903 sporterized 300 win-mag
700 300 rum

This year I have also filled my Buck tag and my first Bull elk tag. Even with that big game action I cannot get the predator hunting out of my head.

Hi everyone,
I've been lurking here for over a month thought I'd finally join. I am in central wisconsin and have become addicted to yote hunting, even after going out only once (and not getting any to come in). I got interested as a sport to fill the long winter after deer rifle season. I look forward to learning from you all!!

Hi,21 years Air Force and counting in North West Louisiana. I have been a trapper for 4 years now and am interested in Predator hunting. I can catch bobcats, fox and yotes but want to call some in also.

Hello,

I was just looking around the web and I found this forum. My name is John "Arizona Bushman" Campbell. I am a desert survival and primitive technology instructor in Arizona. I am also a survival consultant/knife designer. I have been featured in Tactical Knives Magazine and have even done some work with GRB entertainment for the History channel. I am currently working on a project to be released soon from ProTool Industries. Hoping to contribute as much as I can when I am able to. I get a little busy at times. I have read some posts and found them very interesting and helpful. Thanks for having me here.

Let's see.....I'm 50 years old. Spent 13 years (active duty) in the US Air Force, currently working for the Army (Corps of Engineers). Raised in Michigan....spent most of my adult life working and living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but now working in Minnesota. Wife and I will celebrate 30 years of marriage in July. We have 3 grown daughters.....three grand kids...and one daughter who will soon (I think) be engaged to a soldier at Fort Bragg North Carolina. I am just getting into predator hunting...been out once so far. (Can you say NOOB!!)

Looks like a good site.....I've alreay learned a few things by looking and reading.

Just ordered a new rifle (today). Went for the Savage 11FCNS with the accustock and accutrigger. (.223)

Whew.....how that?

Oh...and I'm not addicted to hunting.....I can quit anytime I want. I just don't want to!

Hi,

my name is Aryan from Ottawa.I joined this forum few days ago.I'm 25 years old.I love hunting. One of my friend tell me about this site.
I would be happy after entering this wonderful forum which might be nice and interesting ideas from lovely people here .

I a gun nut 64 years young and new to the forum. I am married with one son and two grandsons. Worked in the tool and die field most of my life. My first love is deer hunting. I will be hunting tomorrow here in Ohio. We are having a four day muzzleloader hunt. Tomorrow, I will be shooting a Savage 10 muzzleloader 42gr 5744 behind 250gr flex-tip. Real whitetail killer. I have been seeing a few yotes from time to time. So, I joined the forum to learn. I started at 14 with a jap 7.7 and a hand full of old shells shooting ground hogs. Worked all summer when I was 16 and bought a Winchester 220 swift. Got a Weaver K10 for Christmass. There wasn't a hog safe the next year. Started reloading at 17 with my Dads help. Shot indoor smallbore for a few years. Joined the Navy after school at Ohio U. Learned to shoot M14's and CAR15's. Hated those CAR15's. It took me 40 years before I bought a AR15. They have changed or I have. I have retired my old Winchester. Bought a Ruger 77 mark II in SS That dull gray. I shoots okay, once I broke it in and wind dies down. Well, good hunt to all. I need to put my gear in my truck for tomorrow hunt. Good hunting to all.

Hey guys-
Found this forum while searching for a new rifle and planning a trip out west for later in the year. I see a few members here are also members of other forums where I am active. I am a collector of way too many things; guns, knives, watches, flashlights and way too many other toys. I like the topics around here and have already found some valuable info go my upcoming coyote hunt. Oh, by the way, my name is Jon an I am an extremely low level government worker in northern Virginia. Pleased to meet y'all!

Hi all, KG here, got the nickname from a friend of my brothers when I was 17 and it stuck, real name is Alan, just turned 51 and live with with my partner Kim and our kids Matthew and Katie, got into shooting after my neighbour was trying to shoot a bird from his TV ariel, reluctantly they gave me a shot, knowing full well that I'd miss, but didn't, I was 7 years old at the time and have hardly stopped firing a gun since. Did a lot of fishing, cycling, walking, cooking and just being outdoors, never seemed to have a minute spare, always busy until........
.....I had a hiccup in 1986 when I lost the lower half of my right leg due to a motor cycle accident, that put me out of action and slowed me up for a while, but I got back at it and carried on where I left off. Had another accident at work on 29/2/2008, (almost 4 years ago) when I fell at work and irreprably damaged my spine, hip and arm, shooting has had to go on the back burner while I recovered, (not that I will ever be 100% again, more like 40%), but I'm getting back to it slowly. I'm lucky that most of the land I shoot is local (within 10 miles of my home) and a shooting buddy in Scotland has over 300,000 acres of land at his disposal as well as a quad bike and a argocat, or I'd get nowhere, its got a good head of Sika, Red and Roe in there that we have to control and get to keep the meat.

Hey, John here. Have been just a reader for the last couple of years until I attempted to post something in the classifieds. I was told that I needed to be more involved...to the tune of 40 posts. I see the method so I'll try and post a little more.

I live in West Michigan, married for 23 years to a wife that comes from roughneck lineage so hunting and fishing passes have come pretty easy over the years...and I do appreciate it! Have 2 great kids that hunt and fish(good upbringing) and 2 ok dogs too.

I look forward to talking with some of the Michigan guys because were kind of making the move over from Trapping.

My name is Jacob and I live in the Pacific Northwest, I am Married with one child who I am anxiously awaiting to introduce to the hunting sports. We go on hikes together now to get use to being in the woods. I grew up here in Oregon primarily hunting Deer and Elk with some upland birds thrown in here and there. I have over the years dabbled in predator/varmint hunting but never got into it with any sort of a passion. I recently purchased an Remington R-15 predator rifle and topped it with a Vortex Diamondback 4x12 to use primarily for predator hunting. I do not get to eastern oregon very much where the majority of hunters go to chase coyotes, so I am going to try and hunt them here in the willamette valley by asking permission from local farmers/ranchers. I look forward to sharing my stories with the folks on this site and trying to learn from everyone and hopfully sharing some knowledge of my own.
