Tell Us A Little About Yourself

Welcome to PM, Edward. Hope your move is successful, and you accumulate a bunch of stories to share with us.

There is a big difference in coastal and eastern Oregon, you know. The predator hunting is better on the inland side of the Cascades.

Good hunting. LB

Howdy guy's My name is George Friedrich I'm from Bassett ne.(GO BIG RED). I'm 36 and have a beautiful wife of 14 yrs. I have one son (5) and a daughter (10). They were both in on thier first coyote kills this year. In fact they both shot thier first rabbits this year (chipmunk single shot 22). Wife loves to deer hunt and took her calling once , nothing come (figures).I hunt everything and my gun keep mating in the cabinet (new ones always poping up). Take care. FRED

Wow. I told someone a while back that predator calling was the bowhunting of the 21st cnetury - that very few guys hunted with a bow years ago and look at it now. When I first started calling coyotes, there were very few of my ilk. Now look at it. My name is Lance Homman. I'm 36 years old and married with one boy (10) and a girl(2). To pay the bills, I work for Uncle Sam. But to really live, I am a taxidermist and freelance outdoor writer, having contributed regularly to Trapper & Predator Caller, American Trapper, Trappers World, Fur Taker, and Buckmasters. Like many of you, I hunt just about anything I can find the time to pursue, but I tell people that I don't hunt anything that can't hunt me back! Like a few of you, I've got a strong background in hunting and the outdoors as a third-generation wolfer here in Kansas, I've got a degree in wildlife biology and focused most of my energy on predator ecology, namely developmental behavior of raptors. Coyote hunting started for me at the ripe old age of three while strapped onto the seat of my dad's dog wagon. Since then, I've taken coyotes by coursing with greyhounds, running them with trucks and rifles, trail hounds, traps, snares, on horseback and tracking them in the snow. But, after all the dust is cleared, nothing stirs my soul like that first sight of a coyote or bobcat coming for dinner. Glad to be here and to have found this wonderful forum. Especially looking forward to rubbing elbows with folks that are just as nutty as me.

Hi my name is Ramiro Flores and I have never killed a coyote. (or any other predator for that matter)
But that is something I hope all these great folk can help me remedy. Just reading all these posts, stories, tips has made me drool with excitement.

I'm a 27 year old attorney from Tucson, Arizona, I have a beautiful wife of 3 years and a 2 year old daughter. I love to hunt, I've been mainly hunting coues deer for the past 5 years and just started elk hunting last year (bow). besides that most of my time is spent reading.

I plan on buying my first calls this week and accept full responsibility, and hold predator masters blameless for any addictions, withdrawals or marital difficulties this may cause.

Well... My name is Doug Bethe. I am 46 years old and pathetically addicted to predator calling. I am also a father of four, married, and hunt as much as work, school activities, honey do's, etc..etc.. allows.
90% of the time I hunt predators withgin a 10 mile radius of my house. I live about 1/2 hour from Salina, KS. I am also an avid pheasant and quail hunter, having hunted with my buddy every opening day since the 6th grade. By trade, I am a purchasing manager, buying and selling engine and turbocharger components for locomotives. That's about it... I enjoy all the posts.. keep up the good work folks!

This board and the sport of calling predators seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. A big welcome and good luck to everyone!

Hi, my name is Barry Wyner. I live in Urbandale Ia, suburb of Des Moines. I've been a police dispatcher for 20 years. Now for the three suburbs of Des Moines. I've hunted coyotes on and off for 35 yrs. I really got into it heavy the last few years. I will be 54 this summer and my wife and I will celebrate our 30th aniversary in a few months. Hope to go out of state this fall for MORE coyotes.

Hello everyone. I'm new to this board and the art of coyote hunting. I'm still 48yrs young(at least for another couple of months)and love all kinds of hunting. The motto at our house is if I don't kill it we don't grill it! I enjoy hunting pheasants over one of my dogs as much as being on a deer stand. I have been blessed with the ability to have hunted in Alaska twice and went to Africa for a plains game hunt. The wife at the time and I were heading seperate ways and I figgured I couldn't split what I didn't have so off I went. As far as guns are concerend I'm a certifiable gun nut. I have a thing for pre 64 Winchesters and nice wood. Also enjoy the shotgun sports and shoot skeet on a regular basis.

Well, I am 27 years old and orginally came from SE Massachussetts, the hotbed of anti-gun/anti-hunting. Despite all the pressure not to I became a hunter and now live in the very hunter/gun friendly Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

I am not married and have no kids, but got 2 dogs that perfect substitutes.

I enjoy all sorts of hunting and fishing and just this deer season took my first deer; a 120 lb Doe.

I am currently working at the local casino as a lead cook.

Greetings to BVickery, wildman, yotecaller, Brennan, Doug, rflores, Lance, FRED, and all you that I haven't greeted in one forum or the other. We are sure pleased to have you with Predator Masters, and hope that you get lots of good info, as well as jumping in with some contributions of your own.

Howdy Folks,

Names Todd Rahm, last I checked I was 31. I am happly married to the biggest bunny hugger north of the south pole. When it comes to anything I do that involves critters, we have the don't ask don't tell policy. I have to great kids a 3 year old boy, and a 6 month daughter.

I have been hunting for as long as I can remember. To include being Dad's rabbit dog until I could pull the hammer back on my H&R 410. That happened at age 8.

I then joined the Army right out of high school with one catch. That they send me to Alaska. So here I am until I retire (13 More Years

)

I am not sure what got me interested in predator calling, but it happened about two years ago. I think it was more of the challange of fooling the hunters (predators) It has now became the biggest hunting part of my life. I hope to learn allot from the guys on this board. I also hope that 30 years down the road when the passion is still running strong (God willing I'm still on his green earth), I can still be posting on this very board or an alike board. If it wasn't for these boards I'd still be so far behind the power curve, it would be sin.

Good calling to all,
Alaskan Yoter

Hi all! My name is John Cochran, I go by Johnny too and yes everyone gets a kick out of it(ref: OJ Simpson). I am 25 and work for the Ohio National Guard. I was raised in West "By God" Virginia and I was hunting as soon as Granddad could take me. I am crazy about bow hunting and was told about yote hunting and thought I would give it a try. I was also told there were plenty here in OH.

Hi all. I'm new to this board. My name is Rex Dix. I am 57 yrs. old and I am a Computer Technician for the IRS (don't hate me, I just build & repair the computers) for the last 20 yrs. Before that I worked for McDonnell Douglas doing the same thing for 17 yrs.

I am married for the 3rd & last time (18 yrs.) to the biggest bunny hugger in the lower 48 states (Todd, you are from "the far north" and yours doesn't count down here). We also have the "I don't want to know about it (hunting)" attitude here in Missouri (Hazelwood is a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri), but she loves the meat I bring home and doesn't question me when I need to go hunting.

I have 2 kids by my first wife, 1G-30yrs, 1G-28 yrs, & 1B-26 yrs. Oldest girl is a housewife with 2 kids...G-12 yrs. B-9 yrs. and lives in Indiana. Middle girl is also a housewife with 3 kids...G-9 yrs. B-6 yrs. B-4 yrs. and lives in Georgia. Son is not married and has no kids. He is a Chef and cooking instructor with the O'Charlie's restaurant chain in Virginia. All three were taught shooting and gun safety as soon as they could understand and hold a gun.

I mainly am a deer & turkey hunter, but a few years ago I found myself facing a couple coyotes while calling turkeys (they came in thinking they were going to get a good meal)and after finding that they didn't like me and I didn't like them, I have started hunting them. I now have the same problem in Northern Missouri where I hunt of having bobcats doing the same thing and am now going to go after them as well.

I hope to learn a lot of things from this board to improve my varmint hunting. By the way, my "handle" comes from the 3 initials of my name and the fact that I am from Missouri and I love to hunt, thus, "radmohunter". Well, that's all for now.

Well, I guess it's about time I jumped in on this. Name's Troy Wiebe. 26 years old, nearly married (live-in fiance), no kids (yet), 1 dog (pretty worthless), and five ferrets (much better than cats - hate 'em can't help it). Born and raised in CO, moved to NM when I was 7 and been here ever since (except for my freshman year at NAU in Flagstaff). Grew up near Farmington in the NW corner, but came to the desert chasing a girl in '93. Got rid of her a long time ago but stayed on and finished school here in Las Cruces, where I've been ever since working for a NASA subcontractor doing environmental work (primarily groundwater monitoring).

I hunt everything I can afford to and more. Blame my dad for starting me out. Still take every opportunity to hunt and fish with him. Called coyotes a little in college with roommates who were into it, but really got hooked last year by a coworker. No looking back since then. Called my first one in early this spring and now I'm totally hooked.

Glad to have a place like this with newcomers and oldtimers (no offense) alike to stimulate one during the off-season.
