Coyote load for 7mm-08

7/08 remington 700
42.0g of IMR 4895
130g Speer BT
Rem 9 1/2
Unreal accurate
Bullet touching lands

this load is extremely fast and shoots less than 1/2" in my 700 sporter.

I tried 145's,150, and 140's; this load out preformed loads with IMR 4064 and Win 760 with the bullets above.

I shoot the same Hornedy 139 grain SST that I shoot for deer in my 280 which delivers about the same velocities. Hornedy makes a 120 grain V-max .284 bullet that would work very well.

I just use the 280 in the fall to tune up for deer season so I'm just checking zero and getting in some live shooting practice with it. I don't want to change the zero so shoot the big game bullet. I use both a 204 Ruger and a 243 for coyotes normally.

Don't plan on harvesting hides with the 7mm-08 with any bullet you shoot.

100 gr. Hornady H.P.
43 gr. H4895

When you hit a coyote with it, he doesn't fall down, he is knocked down hard. I assume if you are using the 7-08, you don't care about pelt damage.

I'm working with Varget & 120gr VMAX bullets right now. Haven't shot 'em yet though. If they shoot like the 120TSX, I'll be a happy camper...

The 7mm08 will put them down with authority....DOA for sure. I have been using a 120 Nosler Ballistic Tip with Varget.

I am using a Hornaday 120gr Spire Point , Rem Primer ,and 41 grs H4895 in a Savage 116FSS. For some reason once you exceed 41grs accuracy with this bullet goes to pot. This load really hammers a yote but the bullet is too lite for deer. I am also loading 43grs of H4895,Rem primer, and Speer 130gr Boattail .This is a load I use on yotes and deer .This is a great bullet for the 7-08 and you don't hear much about it .

Hey I think the 7-08 is agreat yote getter and in the brush country of west TN it preforms solidly .

The Nosler 120 gr BT in the 7mm is great for deer . Nosler made them tougher than most, because Silhouette shooter where complaining because they where splashing and not putting the 200 yard ram down. Slow Nosler complied to their request and made them with a thicker jacket and more controlled expansion /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
