According to the mother ship/flush lintball the rich pay all of the taxes or at least that's whats relayed to the corresponding ships below/the loyally blind listeners.
Do the elite rich really pay that much?

lets put it this way the rich people by law should be paying most of the taxes. This is face although the facts are a little confusing. The rich people and corporations pay most of the taxes but pay a smaller actual percentage of their income than the typical middle class, as in 2percent on 100 million is alot more than 25 percent on 50 thousand. Thats why this argument will never be settled yes they pay most of the bill but they dont pay as big a percentage of their income as we poorer people do. Just because the IRS isnt collecting it doesnt mean the law is on their side. The rest of us could do the same thing if we were a bunch of deadbeat citizens willing to let everyone else foot our bill.

try looking at line 154. right from the irs itself

2005, the top 50% wage earners paid 96.93% of the total irs income tax, but its probably just one of bushes lies

+1 sweatybetty in fact the top 1% pay 33.7% of all taxes. The top 5 percent of taxpayers paid more than one-half (53.8 percent) of all individual income taxes, but reported roughly one-third (30.6 percent) of income. Hate to break it to ya but Rush and company are exactly right but facts like that dont get democrats elected by people who want more handouts.

+1 to both.

That's just it, I heard part of Michael Savage tonight and he was making the point that we have two groups:

1. Tax payers, those who actually pay the taxes, and;

2. Tax consumers, those who pay no taxes (other than sales tax on purchases and the 'hidden' taxes in things like fuel sales) but they consume tax money through wealth redistribution cash payments, 'free' medical, 'free' food and all kinds of other 'services' paid for by the tax payer group.

Instead of quibbling with each other, the tax payers should stand up to the tax consumers and end this.

I think if you do not pay taxes then you should not have a vote. No pay, no say. It used to be that way. Why should the welfare sucking, tax consumers in Baltimore City be able to vote themselves the money I EARNED? It's not right.

I would like to give more to my church and charities I give to like St. Jude's Hospital, Make a Wish Foundation and other children's charities, but I have to fork over money to subsidize government waste and pointless boondoggles created solely to appease tax consumers.

It's very frustrating.

I watched a very interesting interview in which Warren Buffet
said he paid less taxes than his secretary. He went on to explain how the super-wealthy stay that way.

One of the kickers is the ultra-wealthy have no income. Or they have a token income of something like $1. Much of their income is in stuff like stock-bond options, which aren't taxed until they become liquid.

Their mansions and jets and boats are actually corporate assets in a lot of cases.

Basically everything they do or interact with is couched, sometimes very loosely, as a corporate activity or asset.

Do you bitter democrats understand that we live in the only nation in the world where if you don't like your station in life you can do something about it? Don't like the advantage the rich have? Try becoming one of them. I get so sick of socialist democrats whining about how unfair life is.

If you study even basic economics you will understand that punitive taxes on the rich will hinder the economy by slowing investment and expansion of business. Do you think that you can soak the rich and they will still start businesses and expand their businesses to continue to hire workers? How many employees do you see someone on welfare hiring?

Sorry for the rant, but whining, moaning socialist democrats belly aching about how unfair things are make me want to puke. How about stepping up to the plate and becoming a productive member of society instead of constantly wondering what free government program you could qualify for. How about you quit using the safety net as a hammock?

You nailed it Totch. DaddyEdwards just doesn't get it. The best thing a person can do to help the poor is to not become one. Hey, it's April 15th. Back to WORK so I can "pay my fair share".

None of the libtards get it. The top 10 percent pay nearly 80% of the taxes. Now we could just tax them and watch the rest of our jobs get outsourced.

Let me ask you democrats a question. How is it you think that I should look at Trillions of dollars of failure on the part of the US Government, years of inefficient waste and think that I should give them more money to pound down the rat hole?

I have paid through the nose for years only to have Hitlery and Osama telling me that now they would like to give FREE healthcare to everyone out of my another small donation from my paycheck. Surely you understand my hesitation about letting those who do such a fine job with the US postal service and road maintainance manage my future bypass surgery?

Right now we pay State Tax, Federal Tax, Local Tax, Social Security Tax (there is another fine example of efficiency), Medicare tax, Sales Tax, personal property tax, real estate tax, road tax, gas tax, car tags, hunting license, ect. ect. ect. ad naseum. And you can look at me with a straight face and suggest that it isn't enough? You need your [beeep] head examined for even considering voting for one of these loons with a D after their name. The republicans are bad enough and I'm not defending them, but to say that you would go so far as support a socialist like Hillery or B. Hussein Obama makes me wonder how you tie your shoes in the morning to start your day.

I'm sorry for the rant, but april 16 is not the day to even begin to suggest that I may not have given my fair share to support those who are content to lie lengthwise in the public trough. Want healthcare? Get a job and buy your own [beeep] healthcare!

The Income Tax is unconstitutional, and is not needed. SSC is unconstitutional, and should have never been put in place.
