Northeastern Colorado Coyote Hunting

Looking for areas to hunt in NE Colorado, I live east of I25 and just off of hwy34, I would drive quite a ways to be able to hunt, but I would prefer to stay in the NE if possible. Been over most of the Pawnee National Grasslands but it is close enough in that I stand a chance of getting shot by target shooters.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Dave,

Start talking to the farmers in your area.
They are always looking for someone they can trust to thin out the yote's. Once you get in good with one it won't be long and you'll have more places to hunt than you can handle.

Some of the best coyote calling I ever had was in the area around Sterling, Co. Lots of sandhills, lots of coyotes and the coyotes have really nice fur in that area. Pawnee Grasslands are rather barren in places. Get into the sandhill sage and you'll find coyotes. Wiley E

Wiley E,

A quick question, are you talking about the BLM land just east of Sterling?

Those are the only dunes I see on my topo.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Yes, basically anything S. of I76 both East and West of Sterling in the sandhills. Won't be more specific than that! Wiley E
