just for fun! whats your favorite production rifle make, model, and cal

Mine is Winchester Model 70 post 64 I have 3 so far a 280 rem,300 wm,358 win.
As for cal my fave at the present time is 280 rem A.I.
As for second place it would have to be the Ruger #1

not rifles but i would rather hunt with a pistol
S&W 586 8-1/2"
thompson encore pistol in 7.62x39 or 223 rem

Any bugholer 22/250. I have/have had, Remmy, Savage, and Tikka 22/250s. I would have to say the Remmy is my favorite. The Tikka is one I love to hate. I don't like the rifle much, but it just plain kills everything I point it at. The Savages just plain shoot. Ugly and heavy, but shoot like gang busters. Make it a bugholer 22/250 and I am happy.

H-K 770 in .308 with Leupold VX-II 3-9. I've carried it elk/deer hunting for over 25 years now, and I still like it. Just don't stand on my right side while I'm pulling the trigger. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I don't have one and it doesn't look like there is one in the future, but it's a Rem Mod 7 MS in 250 Savage.

favorite rifle is a tie between the marlin cb .45-70 and the win 94 in .30-30. But the nod to favorite cal goes to the .30-30. I wish more guns were chambered for the .30-30 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hrm ok maybe the browning highwall in either .45-70 or .30-30 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

The ones listed below. Out of them my current favorite is the FV .204.
When I get the LRPV dialed in , I'm sure it will become the favorite.

What's my favorite? That's easy. Everyone I own!!!
Really, I guess I have 2.
Remington 722 in 222 Rem. It was my Dad's. First centerfire I ever shot. Makes me feel like my Dad's still with me when I hunt groundhogs with it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Second would be my Sako L461 Vixen in 222 Rem. This rifle shoots way better than I can. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Old Ruger model 77 tang safety in 22-250, just in front of my Remington 788,in 243, 6mm,and 308. Which are in front of my Remington 700 BDL 270, 6mm and 30-06. Tony

MY Dads pre 64 Winchester featherweight 270, 1948! Just a great rifle. I think. I have two 30/06 one standard one feather weight, a 220 swift and a 300 H&H pre 64 winnys. They are nice but that 270 is "the one".
I saw my Dad, when I was about 6, with 3 of his friends along ( Bob Showers, Ray Shenkle, Brian Ebbert), kill two deer at the Wenatchee Orchard hunt, damage control hunts they used to do.
Iron sights, factory peep, 5 shots, 700 yards (guess timated) killed a buck and a doe. Told me he "held about 5 foot high"

I will never take any of these on a hunt. American History.
