i will be going hunting next weekend "deer" and need to sight in my 270 short mag..i know this lil bugger is very flat shooting. so at 100 yds do i need to sight it in one inch high? or two inches? or three? or what? i will be shooting probably 100-500 yards..with most shots being withing the 200-300yd range..but could still take a 50 yd shot if it arose? just need some advice on how to sight in this round. i have a 243 i take sometimes that i have sighted in one inch high at 100 yrds.

If you have a 200yd range or better available, I would sight it in at 200yds (on a 200yd target), myself........

That's what I did with mine.....

Mine is dead on at 100yds. 200yds I am about 2.5" low. I think 3oo is about 9" low. I shoot a leupold vx-III 4.5x14 with a boone and crocket club rectile. The hashes are actually pretty close. But I have never shot anymore than 300. This is all with factory winchester super-x 150grn power points.

For longe range hunting, I set-up my NULA 270 WSM as follows: Using 140 gr. Accubond, 60.5 gr. IMR-4350, Fed. 215M primer, 2.88 OAL, 3095 fps.
Yds. Drop
50 0.9
100 2.3
150 2.7
200 1.9
250 0.0
300 -3.2
350 -7.8
400 -13.8

For Michigan hunting, 100 yd. dead-on.
