Night hunting Utah?

I am trying to plan a Utah predator hunt, and would like to know from someone in the know how likely it would be for a couple of "out of staters" to get permits to night hunt predators. From what I can gleen from the regs Night hunting with hand held or head lights is legal if permitted by local ordinance or something close to that definition. I have talked to some who said that you need to contact the local Sheriff for a permit. I would sure appreciate it if someone with some firsthand knowledge and experience could give me any information.

the lights cannot be hooked to your car or truck.so you have walk just like in the day,scope lights,or lights with battery pack.

The folks that have told you that are exactly right. When dealing with night hunting here you best off with private property. Wayne county may be your best bet providing the same sheriff is there but also consider that just about half of that county is a national park and it's posted no hunting.
