5 Hour Coyote Run

Cast the dogs out this morning among a ton of coyote tracks.
Let ole Missy take the pup on a little run.
Got one up pretty quick. It stayed in the same woods all day.
One of the guys saw it. Big male I guess. Huge track.
Pup ran beautiful. Great voice.
The darn thing ran by each of us many times, but we have ice on everything here and it's tough to see in the brush. He was smart enough to stay there.
It was dead still out, so it was a great chase to listen to even though we didn't get em.
Must be a female in heat there for him to stick in the same woods all day.
5 hour run. A good day all around. And great pup training.
 
Fd hows the snow in ny sounds like it was good running. we have no running cond. here in NH all crusted up. how old is your pup. what do you have for hounds. keep after that pup.
 
We have lots of ice in the brush and trees. Some guys are not running, but I've had good luck. The dogs feet looked good.
It's the first snow of the season for us.
The pup is a year 1/2. She ran a fox alone at 5 months! My old dog has been perfect to train with. She's a cold tracking machine, and screams bloody murder when it's a hot track.
Too bad the arthritis keeps her from running every day.
I'm amazed at this pup's nose and drive for such a small Walker. We shall see.
