#1.... I use, about equally, my Savage 10FLP Tactical in .223,... or my Savage 111FL in .250 Savage. The .223 gets the job done on the longer shots when I call fields. I shoot 52gr Sierra match (moly-coated) at 3500+ FPS. This rifle has a bull barrel, is topped with a Redfield 4x-16x 44mm AO scope, and weighs in at 11 1/2 pounds, loaded. The .250 is topped with a Weaver 2.5x-7x, and weighs in at 7 1/2 pounds. It is my shorter-range-situation (brushy) rifle. I shoot 75gr Sierra HP's at 3320FPS.
#2.... My dream coyote rifle would be a Bushmaster Varminter, in .223 or 6x45. If I could get it in a true Left-Hand version, it would be even better. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif I would top it with a 4x-12x Leo. My son has a Bushy Varminter .223 that regularly shoots sub-1/2-MOA groups.
#3.... Most of my hunting/calling is around fields, when the conditions are right. About 1/3 of my calling is grown-up clearcuts.
