What has changed in the last decade?!

Good morning all,
I registered on this forum back in 2011. I frequented this forum daily and enjoyed many write ups and discussions amongst its members. Life got busy and I really haven’t been on the forum much if any in the past 7 years or so and lately I’ve been on more and wanting to engage like I did back then. And maybe it’s just me, but I’m noticing a trend…it appears this forum has been slowly dying a bit. Very few topics being posted in the sections I frequented most, the custom call makers section has nearly died, many members that I remember are not posting anymore it seems. What is happening? Does anyone have some insight to the lack of activity? Back in the day I remember waking up to 15+ new topics in the predator hunting section. And while many were repeat questions(guilty of it myself), they often had new and creative answers. The past couple weeks there’s been a handful of new topics. Just looking to see if I’m the only one stuck in the old days wishing things were the way they were.

My first time here in a long while. Lots of facebook predator groups have syphoned members and activity, maybe a heavy handed moderator or two over the years and Life got busy for some, etc.

For me, it's been moderator RedFrogs strong_arming.
He's threatened me several times about a "vacation" if I didn't straighten up.
I've asked him about what T.O.S I violated and he can't give one.
Power trip mods ruin many sites!

Sadly a lot of the really knowledgeable hunters have left or got banned over silly BS

Careful…as with many socialist settings, calling out the strong arm could get you in trouble!

Agreeing with all of the above.

But, still..

There are still some awfully solid members posting here. Getting the wisest of the old heads interested enough in a topic to actually, openly, converse, isn't that easy and doesn't happen very often anymore. But there really is still a pretty solid core of real-deal members. They just don't post much.

I'm not sure where you can find any more knowledgeable people posting at all anymore. Maybe, somewhere, but I don't know where that is. I don't cruise the other forums either though. If there's better pickings elsewhere, somebody speak up!

General gist of this thread is spot on though. This place is dead as dead compared to the old days. And no reason to believe it will ever make any kind of come back. Ownership doesn't make even the pretense of giving a crap. They have this place on blocks, auto pilot, zero effort, for as long as that will last. And when the cost becomes more than the income, it will just go away. I don't think that's very far off.

When you scroll through the forum lists and count the number of members logged on, if there are 250 members its a busy day. Post are read but no one replies. Some posts are never replied to. Some may be there for days and one person responds, maybe two. Its like watching paint dry. I've been going more and more to the Accurate Shooter forums. They are more in to bench rest and F-class shooting but there is a lot of good information floating around and seems a quick response to a question doesn't take long. I sure hate seeing this forum die. Its been a great place to spend time and learn.
