I was getting ready to skin a coyote today but was combing out the burrs etc... and started getting big globs of under fur coming out. Couple handfulls so I quit combing. Since it's mid February I wouldn't expect them to start "shedding" so am wondering if this is a first sign of mites/mange? There is no evidence of hair loss just looking at him, plus he's a big 42 lb male and hate to pitch the pelt, but figure it's not good (this time of year) to be losing that much under fur.
