We had a great day of calling coyote's, today.

On the very first stand, I had my shotgun, and my Foxpro X-Wave was about 20 yards out in front of me. My hunting buddy JP7mag was up on a ridge to my left about 100 yards away.

After playing Bay Bee Cottontail for about 6 or 7 minutes a coyote ran up and stopped about 15 yards to the left of my Foxpro. Just as I shot that coyote with my shotgun I heard JP7mag's 243 Win go off just a split second after I shot.

We ended up with two dead coyotes. JP7mag couldn't see the coyote I shot, and I couldn't see the coyote he shot. It was very close to be a simultaneous double!

A few stands later I had a double come in, but I only shot one of them.

Later in the day I shot a coyote with my shotgun about 20 yards to the left of my Foxpro.

A few minutes later a Bobcat showed up.

As I was watching this Bobcat walk off to my left, I saw movement just above and a little past the Bobcat. It was another coyote and it stopped. It had not been stopped more than a few seconds when I heard JP7mag's 243 go off again and I saw the coyote tip over.

So we killed 2 coyotes and called in a Bobcat on that one stand.

We ended up getting 8 coyotes for the day. It was a great day!

Just awesome seeing you guys out west with that kind of success. Daytime hunting in NH I am lucky to get that many in an entire winter of calling.

Congrats!
Beautiful country!!! I am always looking at flat wheat fields and cow pastures. Great day with a friend. Do you still lay flat with a pillow? Congrats again

I am now too old to use just the pillow! LOL If I lay flat on my back for a while, I can't just spring up into the shooting position like I use to.

So now I use my old pillow hooked onto an adjustable plywood ramp. I used it on two of the coyotes we got yesterday.

In the above picture my Foxpro Remote Control is sitting on my ramp. It is amazing how coyotes will run right up on us when we are using my ramp and when we are laying prone with rifles, in wide open country with no grass or cover.

Excellent day there! I have a couple low to the ground turkey chairs I hadn't hardly used so took the lightest & much more comfortable of the two with me last Saturday. Way low to the ground and as comfortable as my big camp chair. I was leaned back in it next to friend who layed back on ground with his backpack for headrest. First big red coyote literally walked right in front of us could of butt slapped him with my tall shooting sticks. Been trying to remember where I got it so I can grab a couple more in case it breaks. It is absolutely perfect, and puts your legs in the right spot to suck up to shoot off your knees.

Thats pretty neat. I thought about trying a goose chair. I just don't know how much ground I could watch doing that. What loads are you shooting now?

Thanks
Jon
