Officer that shot Ashli Babbitt

Testified he could not see her hands, didn't know her intent, had no idea what was in her backpack. Never said he was in life threatening position. And it is ruled a justified shooting, why weren't hundreds shot during protests in cities where crowds burned and looted public and private properties with people inside? Because it is not legal to use deadly force to protect property.

he wasnt protecting property - he was protecting a secured area that housed our nation's leadership.

two completely different things.

regardless of weather we like the people he's charged with protecting or not, they're still the folks that are elected by we the people and unfortunately that makes them targets for people with bad intentions.

when a building like this is overrun - there are soft and hard protection zones pre-established. once the protectee's are evaced to the secure portions of the building... you attempt to cross one of those hard lines, and there's going to be hard consequences for your actions. quite possibly leading up to and including achieving room temperature. period.

which is exactly what happened.

he's right - there was NO Way to know what was in her backpack. he said he yelled repeatedly for them to stay back. the video showed her stopping and then continuing on. she clearly felt the need to ignore his commands. SHE didnt listen. he opened fire.

all she had to do was not attempt to breech a secured area of a building that was in lockdown. all she had to do was listen to the legal commands she was given.

SHE chose to ignore them. she paid the ultimate consequence for her decisions.

this is a classic case of **** around and find out. open and shut.

Highly respected attorney and law professor Jonathan Turley appears to disagree:

"In the Babbitt shooting, the different treatment seems driven more by the identity of the person shot than the shooter. Babbitt is considered by many to be fair game because she was labeled an “insurrectionist.” To describe her shooting as unjustified would be to invite accusations of supporting sedition or insurrection. Thus, it is not enough to condemn her actions (as most of us have done); you must not question her killing."

"Like many, I condemned the Jan. 6 riot (along with those who fueled the unhinged anger that led to the violence) as the desecration of our Capitol and our constitutional process. But that doesn’t mean rioting should be treated as a license for the use of lethal force, particularly against unarmed suspects. The “job” of officers, to which Byrd referred, often demands a courage and restraint that few of us could muster. As shown by every other officer that day, it is a job that is often defined by abstinence from rather than application of lethal force. It was the rest of the force who refrained from using lethal force, despite being attacked, that were the extraordinary embodiments of the principles governing their profession."

All George Floyd had to do was follow instructions.
All Babbit had to do was follow instructions.

The big difference seems to be the number of Nikes and tv sets involved and the fact that the people at the Capitol apparently didn't have a match.

damm honkys cant do nuttin right.

No other officers shot anyone, many stood for photos with the "dangerous insurrection". The officer that died was not "beaten with a fire extinguisher", had a stroke. The justice dept and Biden administration continues to use the court to stop the release of videos, many of which will show no violence, just trespassing on OUR property. Another bunch of lies, like the border, Hunter Biden's laptop, and Afghan refugees. So many lies, laws broken over 40 years of "public service".

amen.

even if floyd was higher than a f*cking kite during his arrest and babbit was sober and supposedly of sound mind.

had either one of those individuals complied during the events leading up to their death in the first place - both would be here now telling their story instead of feeding the worms.
