Moon Up, Coyote Down

I had to go by myself again tonight. My hunting buddy is hot into fishing right now. I killed this female just as the moon was rising above the trees. Hit her a little low on the first shot, but managed to recover and make a decent running shot to roll her.

Nice follow up shot ! Looked like you had about a 2’ lead on that shot !

Looks like your corn has been picked already ?

Thanks guys, and yes the corn in that field has been picked and the ditch banks mowed. Most of the corn where I hunt has now been picked, but the large majority of this fields still have overgrown ditch banks and high cornstalks.

Thank you, but if I had hit her where I should have there wouldn't have been a need for a running shot. Just early season jitters I guess not really settling in before sending one. Last night is the first time I have been able to sit on a stand, and should have made a solid first shot. All the previous kills in September were shooting off the tripod while standing.
