Another One for the Road

I did manage to kill one tonight calling A pretty big male and fairly dark. He doesn't look all that big in the picture without that winter coat, but he was heavy. Shot him on a hunting club where we've recently gotten permission to hunt. He was on a timber road. The club has 6,000 acres so it will give us some good options as soon as deer season goes out next winter. He stepped out about 100 yds. and I smacked him right square in the chest. Unfortunately when I turn the DVR on it takes a few seconds before it starts recording so all I got was him waving goodbye. Here is a picture.

No, it really is since we start our self-imposed new season tomorrow and we didn't go last night or tonight. We don't go much in July with it so hot. We usually just get a couple if someone really is having trouble with them, and get a few more in August, but it really doesn't get going again until Sept. I'm ready for longer nights and cooler weather.
