Silencer Shop slow as [beeep]!!

Bought a couple suppressors from a local dealer Jan 6th, used their kiosk on site. Did one shots on both and bought the tax stamp. Took them a week to send me digital copies to sign and this is where it sits. Been almost a month and my paperwork is sitting with Silencer Shop. My orders have sat at “Form 4 (Single Shot): Signatures Complete”. For darn near a month now. Called them twice and they state that everything on my end is done, they will forward paperwork when they get to it. Said the election and COVID have slowed them down.

I guess I can except that, but at this point I could have done this myself a lot quicker!
I think it’s ignorant that we have to get these cleared, but dang they’ve already added another month to an already lengthy process.

Have you guys have good experience with them? Just beware if you use them, they are slow as [beeep]!

I did not use them. From what I saw they marked their suppressors up from MSRP and were out of stock on the one that I wanted anyway. What is the point if you have to go to the FFL to pick it up anyway?
I went through a local shop, filled out the paperwork on 01/20/21 and BATF cashed my check on 02/04/21.

Joe shutdown the Keystone 2 hrs after being sworn in, do you think he hasn't called ATF and conveyed his position on NFA. He sent a representative to the World Economic forum, who stated the U.S. will be ahead of schedule for the 2030 reset deadline. He will tax and inconvenience and regulate you out of your individual rights. That's how a oligarchy works.

Guys that are getting into the suppressor game need to know INSTANTLY, it's a waiting game, and if you can't handle it, don't get into it...

I make it blatantly obvious for any customer as soon as I proceed with an order and the form 3 is submitted to get the suppressor from manufacturer to dealer or dealer to dealer, the wait begins, then the longer wait once the form 4 commences.

So far I've only had one guy get pissed I was 2 weeks lagging as to what my ETA was, so I refunded him instead of dealing with online BS when it comes to how long things in the NFA spectrum take.

I agree, all this $hit needs to go away... I'm seeing, that it's going to get much worse, before or even if it ever gets better.

Has nothing to do with the ATF For me at this point, been a month and they haven’t sent my [beeep] paperwork in yet. I fully understand the waiting game with the ATF, I thought they were supposed to expedite the process before it gets there

Well, I can understand your concern as a customer, but are you understanding theirs as a dealer?
Everything is slow, insanely slow, maybe they don't even have the suppressors S/N to get transferred to the form 4 yet. Or maybe they are just telling you how it is.

I had to do a NICS BG check for a customers long gun, it took 3 hours on hold, 3 hours... Now if a gun shop has orders prior to yours, which I'm sure they do, then is that not understandable.

Everything is Slow, Yes... Unfortunately everything now is a process, and it's looking to get worse.

You ain’t understanding why I’m bitching. Local dealer had the cans on the shelf., bought them. They are a dealer that has a kiosk for silencer shop. Bought tax stamps and 1 shot trusts from them. Dealer and Silencer shop confirmed on Jan 12 all done on my and dealers side, silencer shop just won’t /haven’t sent the info on!!

I agree with Skinney on this. Once you write the check/swipe card just try to forget about it. Checking on wait times, updates and more will just raise your blood pressure. This is probably similar to the Pre 41F surge that made me wait a full year.

Guns are flying off the shelves, loaded ammo is almost imaginary and you can't even buy primers! Probably LOTS of people filing NFA stuff too!

I must be missing something. If you bought and paid for the suppressors through a local dealer, why did you do the paper work through a silencer shop kiosk?

I have a local dealer that uses Silencer Shop for all of their paperwork. You set up your account through Silencer Shop. You can even download the app to your cell phone. Then you scan finger prints, upload your own photo, trust docs, and then Silencer Shop does all the paperwork on behalf on your dealer.

I thought it was odd, too. I live in Nebraska and one dealer asked me to set up an account. After reading this, I have further concerns about the process because Silencer Shop is not in my state.

I've had a customer go through them, I didn't have to do anything other than really transfer the can. It was not slower than normal, but much easier for me as a dealer.

They sat on my tax stamp money from Early July till Sept 9th before they sent it in. It got cashed Sept 22. Almost three months of waiting, before my "wait" began...

3 months! Boy that doesn’t bode well for now when demand has been increasing.

I did get an email response from them this morning saying that they are processing nearly 2000/day form 4’s. So I guess I will just sit down and quit bitching.

I really should of got off my butt and did this last year like I know I should have.

Maybe in the meantime I will go the form 1 route, but as I read that I keep getting more and more confused as to the do’s and don’ts.

Agree. Can’t wait for that new world socialist order to roll around soon. Get ready to live like the Chinese people because that’s where we’re heading. No rights.

I bought 2 suppressors through silencer shop over a year ago. Overall, I was very pleased with them and it did make everything from the fingerprints to the photos less time consuming. I do remember a delay of a month or two before my check was cashed. I decided to do the paperwork myself last year and had my fingerprints done at the county sheriffs office and did my own passport photos at Walgreens. It was a pain to make sure all the "i's" were dotted and "t's" were crossed. Even though I did get my check cashed faster, the extra hassle isn't worth saving a month or two of wait time for me. I really hate doing paperwork. It has been about 6 months since my check was cashed and I'm still waiting.

Skinney is giving great advice, just forget about it and don't stress over it. Set the bar really low for expectations on time and be happy if you get to pick it up before the summer of 2022.

Fist can through silencer shop two years ago. Didn't do the kiosk as there wasn't one at the dealer. Sent them my trust and fingerprints and photos. Back in under 7 months. Second can did the paperwork and prints and photos right at the shop that makes them. 4 miles from my house. I mailed everything in. Back in 4 months. Both cans came from Wisconsin so I didn't need to form 3.

Seriously considering getting one. I’m in Wisconsin. Would you mind sharing the shop you went through? If it’s close enough to me I’d make the trip to talk to them. Thanks.
