4 Arrested in Texas on 150 Counts of Voter Fraud

By Isabel van Brugen
March 1, 2021 Updated: March 1, 2021

Four people were arrested in Texas last month on 150 counts of voter fraud dating back to the 2018 Medina County Primary Election, according to reports.

The Texas attorney general’s Election Fraud Unit on Feb. 11 arrested Medina County Justice of the Peace Tomas Ramirez, and earlier detained Leonor Rivas Garza, Eva Ann Martinez and Mary Balderrama on election fraud allegations, News4SA reported.

According to a release from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office, the case involved allegations of vote harvesting at assisted living centers in Medina County in the 2018 Medina County Primary Election.

Ramirez faces one count of organized election fraud, one count of assisting voter voting ballot by mail, and 17 counts of unlawful possession of a ballot or ballot envelope, according to the news outlet.

Balderrama is charged with one count of organized election fraud, nine counts of illegal voting, two counts of unlawful possession of ballot or ballot envelope, one count of mail ballot application, two counts of unlawfully assisting voter voting by mail, two counts of tampering with government record, and eight counts of election fraud.

Garza faces a single count of organized election fraud, two counts of illegal voting, eight counts of unlawful possession of a ballot or ballot envelope, two counts of election fraud and four counts of fraudulent use of an absentee ballot by mail.

Martinez is charged with a single count of organized election fraud, nine counts of illegal voting, 28 counts of unlawful possession of ballot or ballot envelope, three counts of purportedly acting as an agent, five counts of tampering with government record, 14 counts of election fraud, and four counts of fraudulent mail ballot application, according to News4SA.

The Texas attorney general’s office didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment by The Epoch Times.

In a separate incident, Raquel Rodriguez, a Texas woman who bragged about being able to deliver thousands of votes for tens of thousands in cash was arrested in January on charges including election fraud and illegal voting.

Rodriguez was filmed during an undercover project by Project Veritas, an investigative journalism nonprofit. She was recorded in footage released last year that she could deliver “at least 5,000” votes “county-wide” for $55,000 in cash and that it would hire her “entire team.” She acknowledged what she was discussing could land her prison time.

Based on the footage, Paxton, a Republican, opened an investigation. That probe led to the arrest, Paxton announced on Jan. 13.

Rodriguez faces a prison sentence of up to 20 years if convicted.

Judge Rules Arizona’s Maricopa County Must Turn Over 2.1 Million November Election Ballots to Senate
By Jack Phillips

A judge on Friday ruled that Maricopa County must provide some 2.1 million ballots from the Nov. 3 election to the Arizona state Senate and allow access to its election equipment to conduct an audit.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Timothy Thomason ruled that subpoenas issued by Arizona’s state Senate are valid and should be enforced, and he disputed arguments from Maricopa County officials saying the subpoenas are unlawful. The county previously stated that multiple audits have been sufficient and said ballots should be sealed.

“The Court finds that the subpoenas are legal and enforceable,” Thomason wrote (pdf) in his ruling. “There is no question that the Senators have the power to issue legislative subpoenas. The subpoenas comply with the statutory requirements for legislative subpoenas. The Senate also has broad constitutional power to oversee elections.”

He argued that the “Arizona legislature clearly has the power to investigate and examine election reform matters,” adding that senators can “subpoena material as part of an inquiry into election reform measures.

The move was hailed by Republican legislators in Arizona.

Arizona Senate President Karen Fann, a Republican, told news outlets after the judge’s ruling that their move was “never about overturning the election, it was about the integrity of the Arizona election system.”

“This was always about voter integrity and the integrity of the voting system itself,” Fann added.

State Sen. Warren Petersen, a Republican, confirmed that the Senate will go through with a “forensic audit” of Maricopa’s Nov. 3 election results. Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix, saw more than 2.1 million people vote during the last election.

But Bill Gates, the vice-chairman of the Maricopa Board of Supervisors, wrote Friday that the county has “nothing to hide,” adding that officials have “conducted three fully transparent audits, including two forensic audits by independent, qualified and outside Vote System Testing Laboratories.”

“I trust the Senate will be completely transparent with the public as Maricopa County has been,” he added. “From the beginning, the County sought clarification from the court. The court has ruled. I look forward to working with the Senate to provide them the information they are requesting.”

The subpoenas were issued following allegations of voter fraud and irregularities made by former President Donald Trump and surrogates including Rudy Giuliani.

A dispute over the election began when former Senate Judiciary Chairman Eddie Farnsworth held a hearing to question county officials about the election. Farnsworth and Fann then issued several subpoenas, which prompted Maricopa County to issue a lawsuit. The subpoenas were re-issued in January.

It’s not clear if the Maricopa Board of Supervisors will appeal Thomason’s decision. The Epoch Times has reached out to the county for comment.

That's why the issue of cleaning up voter fraud is the #1 most important issue cited at CPAC - 2021. Without free, fair and honest elections the socialists will continue to win every important national election going forward.I believe the above is only the tip of the iceberg.

I'm doubtful of this story.
Just like i have been for the past few years about what kind of "good news" us conservatives "read/hear.

Let's revisit this thread 30 days from now and see if.....
I'm hoping for a lynching but it s gonna turn into nothing.

I don't believe for a second that this demented fool who barely came out of his basement during the campaign actually won legitimately.

Nope, I don't have the ability to prove it & the courts who were asked to look at such evidence refused to, so no point in me wasting energy trying to.

But it is my opinion that we watched the biggest election theft in our history & now they know they can do it, they'll do it again.

I share your skepticism borkon. We are seeing the results of Republicans voting for 'the lesser of two evils' for the past 40 years. Nothing will change for the better as long as Rino's,establishment Republicans and swamp Republicans remain in leadership positions. Voters must become more involved in the political process. Thinking we've done our civic duty by voting every two or four years is woefully inadequate. Real Republicans must become more involved in the selection process for Republican candidates and vote in the primaries. Not only nationally but at the state level. Anything less will result in absolutely nothing changing. That is unthinkable!

Hopefully, keeping up the pressure regarding voter fraud will
pressure other States to clean up their act and make it harder to steal an election in the future.

Georgia House Passes Omnibus Election Reform Bill

By Mimi Nguyen Ly
March 1, 2021 Updated: March 2, 2021

Georgia’s House of Representatives passed an omnibus bill that would reform a range of election rules, including over absentee voting, voter ID for absentee voting, time limits for voting, and more.

The 66-page bill, HB 531 (pdf) passed the Republican majority chamber on a party line vote of 97-72 and is headed to the state Senate for further debate.

State Rep. Barry Fleming, a Republican, the main sponsor of the HB 531 bill, said that the proposal was designed to restore voters’ confidence in Georgia’s election system following the 2020 presidential election, which saw numerous allegations of voting irregularities and allegations of election fraud.

Separately, the GOP-majority Senate on Feb. 23 introduced its own version of an omnibus election reform bill, SB 241 (pdf) that has some overlap with HB 531. One difference is that the Senate bill would eliminate no-excuse absentee voting, something that has been allowed in Georgia since 2005, whereas the House bill would still allow no-excuse absentee voting.
Absentee Ballots

The proposed HB 531, first introduced on Feb. 18, sets up multiple requirements for absentee ballots, including a number of voter identification requirements in replacement of the state’s current signature match process.

Voters would have to submit their driver’s license number, their state identification card, or the last four digits of their Social Security number on the ballot envelope. If the voter lacks a government ID, the bill requires a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows the name and address of the voter.

Under the new bill, voters would be able to request an absentee ballot up to 78 days before the election, instead of the current 180 days. The absentee ballots and early votes must be received by 11 days prior to the election day.

The government, including election officials, would not be allowed to mail out unsolicited applications for absentee ballots to voters under the bill. Only authorized relatives or persons signing as helping a voter who is illiterate or physically disabled may apply on behalf of another for an absentee ballot application .

Election officials also must not send out absentee ballots until four weeks prior to the election.
Other Requirements

To help reduce Georgia’s runoff period to four weeks, instead of nine weeks as experienced by the state in the Jan. 2 runoff elections for two Senate seats, military and overseas voters would be offered ranked choice voting.

Drop boxes would still be allowed under the new bill but subject to a number of restrictions. There would be a limited number of drop boxes, where every county would have at least one drop box but no more than one per 100,000 active voters or one for each early voting site. Any given drop box must be located at the office of the board of registrars or absentee ballot clerk, or indoors at an early voting site. The drop boxes are only open when those sites are open and be under constant surveillance “by an election official or his or her designee, law enforcement official, or licensed security guard.”

The proposed legislation would change Georgia’s early voting period to business hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting about three weeks before election day, and registrars would have the option to extend voting hours to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The bill would also limit weekend voting to the second Saturday before the election. Counties can also choose the third Saturday or third Sunday before election day as another weekend day.

The HB 531 will no longer count any provisional ballots cast in the wrong precinct—a change from the current law, which stipulates that even if the ballot was cast in the wrong precinct, election officials can count the votes for races in which the voter was entitled to vote.

Per the bill, ballots would be required to be printed on “security paper that incorporates features which can be used to authenticate the ballot as an official ballot but which do not make the ballot identifiable to a particular elector.“

Election superintendents and boards of registrars are not allowed to accept any “funding, grants, or gifts from any source other than from the governing authority of the county or municipality, the State of Georgia, or the federal government,” under the bill.

Among other voting requirements, the bill also prohibits people to solicit votes, distribute or show any campaign material, or provide money or gifts—including food and drink—within 25 feet of voters standing in line at any polling place, and within 150 feet of any polling place.

Wyoming Lawmakers Grant Initial Approval to Election Reform Voter ID Bill

By Isabel van Brugen
March 3, 2021 Updated: March 3, 2021

A bill that would require voters to submit photo identification at the polls passed its first vote in the Wyoming House of Representatives on March 1.

The legislation, House Bill 75, requires voters to present either a Wyoming driver’s license, or identification card, tribal identification card, valid U.S. passport, U.S. military card, or Medicare insurance card when casting their ballots in elections.

The bill wouldn’t apply to people voting by absentee ballot after registering in person or by mail.

It still requires a further two votes to clear the House. If successful, it would then proceed to the Senate.

Secretary of State Ed Buchanan, a backer of the legislation, hasn’t said that voter fraud is a problem in the state, but described the bill as a measure needed to prevent any future problems in the election process.

“It’s a proactive piece of legislation. Although it’s been pointed out we don’t see a lot of fraud in the state of Wyoming, we’re very lucky to live where we live. Our small population and having those personal relationships has prevented a great deal of fraud,” Buchanan said.

“If folks ever lose faith in our elections then all is lost because they will lose faith in their government, they will lose faith in law enforcement, they will lose faith in the legislature, in my office [and] anyone that’s in a position of authority,” he added.

“This is a best practices issue, creating an environment where it’s difficult to commit fraud,” said Rep. Chuck Gray, a Republican from Casper and one of 56 cosponsors of the bill. “It’s about Wyoming being the gold standard on the issue.”

Voters in the state are already required to submit a valid form of identification when registering to vote, however, the latest legislation would require voters to do so again at the polls.

Critics of the legislation argue it would make voting in person less accessible, and would therefore disenfranchise voters.

Marguerite Herman with the League of Women Voters told the Wyoming House Corporations Committee that it promotes a “false narrative” that elections aren’t secure.

“There is no evidence of pervasive voter impersonation that would be remedied by presenting voter ID at the polls,” Herman said in a Zoom meeting. “The premise of the bill at all is shaky at best.”

“If we think our elections are secure to the point there is no voter fraud, then what does this policy do?” challenged Jackson Rep. Mike Yin, a Democrat. “Is it just a response to what’s happening on the national level? And if so, does that better Wyoming to implement a policy that doesn’t bring any benefit to us because our elections are already secure.”

Rather than bury his head in the sand, this judge has the balls to investigate allegations of voter fraud. If it happens in local elections, and it obviously does, it happens in national elections, but you have to examine the evidence to sort it out.

Hey, it's a start!!

Judge Orders New Election After 78 Percent of Mail-In Ballots Found Invalid, Notary Arrested

By Jack Phillips
March 4, 2021 Updated: March 4, 2021

A Mississippi judge ordered a new runoff election for a local election in Aberdeen after more than three-quarters of absentee ballots cast in the June Democratic runoff election were found to be invalid, while a notary involved in the election was arrested.

Judge Jeff Weill, in a 64-page order, said that there is evidence of fraud and criminal activity in how absentee ballots were handled, how they were counted, and actions from individuals at polling places during the runoff election held in Aberdeen, Mississippi. As a result, a new runoff election for the Ward 1 alderman seat is necessary, reported WCBI.

The judge ruled that 66 of 84 absentee ballots that were cast in the election, or around 78 percent, should have never been counted, according to WCBI. Nicholas Holliday was declared the winner of the alderman seat by 37 votes, while challenger Robert Devaull contested the results in court.

“The court is of the opinion there is probable cause that several individuals involved in the disturbances during election day at the polling precinct ‘willfully and corruptly violated’ one or more of the above criminal statutes,” according to the judge.

“The court will leave to the appropriate authorities to determine whether the actions of Maurice Howard, Henry Randle and S. Nicholas Holliday amounted to prosecutable crimes,” the court filings also said, referring to Police Chief Henry Randle and former Mayor Maurice Howard, who Weill said were involved in intimidation and harassment at the polling police on Election Day, according to evidence.

Meanwhile, Weill ordered a separate bench warrant and set bond for $500 for Dallas Jones, who notarized the absentee ballots in question, reported the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal. She was later released on bond, reports said. According to court documents, Jones said she admitted that she violated her notary duties and allegedly said she assisted an individual or individuals that flaunted the state’s voter fraud law.

Jones testified in a hearing that she was called to the home of then Alderwoman Lady Garth to correct the woman’s father’s absentee ballot paperwork. Jones said she notarized “about 30 something ballots,” WCBI reported, adding that the judge found that 83 regular ballots were counted without being initialed by election workers.

The court filings said that another notary, Lu Stephens, made testimony that was determined not to be believable, according to the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal. The judge noted that other irregularities were noted, including ballot box integrity and not certifying the election in a timely manner.

“When you have an absentee ballot, there’s an envelope, you vote, fold the ballot, put it in an envelope, lick the flap, sign across the flap, then notary signs your election certificate, she testified that she didn’t sign in front of anybody, didn’t see anybody sign it, she just notarized it, just stamped them,” said Lydia Quarles, an attorney for Robert Devaull, told WCBI.

An attorney for Holliday told WCBI that they “will explore all the legal remedies afforded to Mr. Holliday under the law including but not limited to a request for the Court to reconsider its findings; a judgment notwithstanding the verdict or new trial; or the appellate process.”

2 NJ City Councilmen Indicted on Mail-In Voting Fraud Charges

By Jack Phillips
March 4, 2021 Updated: March 4, 2021

Two city councilmembers in Paterson, New Jersey, were indicted on mail-in voting fraud charges related to the city’s May 2020 election, officials said on March 3.

Michael Jackson, 49, and Alex Mendez, 45, face a variety of charges including election fraud, fraud in casting mail-in votes, tampering with public records, and unauthorized possession of ballots, according to a statement from the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.

They were initially charged in June 2020 after winning their races for City Council seats.

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign cited the allegations against Jackson and Mendez in pointing to the danger of using relaxed mail-in balloting. A federal judge dismissed the campaign’s suit, saying there were anti-fraud measures to secure elections. Supporters of the former president pointed to the case against Mendez and Jackson again before the Nov. 3 election, noting that voting via mail could lead to fraud.

Mendez and Jackson won their races by more than 200 votes each. The two councilmembers have asserted they were charged because of their opposition to Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh and have denied the charges.

“These indictments are an important step in our prosecution of these two sitting city councilmen on charges including second-degree election fraud,” Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said in a statement on March 3. “As we have seen all too clearly in recent months, public confidence in our democratic process is critical. If anyone tampers with an election in New Jersey and threatens that process, we will hold them accountable.”

The Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability opened an investigation after the U.S. Postal Inspection Service alerted the state agency that hundreds of mail-in ballots were found inside a mailbox in the nearby borough of Haledon, before hundreds more mail-in ballots were found inside a Paterson mailbox. The Paterson election in May of last year was all vote-by-mail.

“New Jersey’s criminal code includes various indictable offenses related to election fraud and, in particular, fraud involving mail-in ballots,” noted Thomas Eicher, director of the Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability. “With these indictments, we’re using those laws for their intended purpose—defending free and fair elections by prosecuting those accused of seeking to undermine them.”

Jackson and Mendez have previously argued that they were charged with the crimes for political reasons, claiming that the criticism of Sayegh prompted the New Jersey attorney general’s office to convene a grand jury.

“You would like to think that local politics wouldn’t reach that far, but I guess it does,” Jackson said, according to NorthJersey.com.

“My client has maintained his innocence throughout this process and will enter a plea of not guilty to the charges and will continue to serve the citizens of Paterson,” Mendez’s lawyer, Paul Brickfield, told NJ.com in an email on March 3.

But Sayegh, in a March 3 statement, said the “indictments reaffirm the seriousness of the crimes for which the defendants are accused,” adding, “I remain hopeful that justice will be served on behalf of the residents of Paterson.”

Shelim Khalique, 52, of Wayne, and Abu Razyen, 23, of Prospect Park, were also charged in connection to the case, the attorney general’s office said.

Jackson could face a maximum of more than 26 years in state prison if convicted while Mendez could face a maximum of more than 36 years.

Lawyers for Mendez and Jackson didn’t immediately respond to a request by The Epoch Times for comment.

Texas Woman Accused of Election Fraud Used Gift Bags: Warrant

By Samuel Allegri
March 3, 2021 Updated: March 3, 2021

A former congressional campaign volunteer who was recorded on hidden camera saying she could deliver thousands of votes for tens of thousands of dollars, had a series of gift bags that were similar to the one she was recorded giving to an elderly woman, arrest warrants stated.

The warrants say that in exchange for $500, Raquel Rodriguez agreed to show a person that posed as a potential client how she could get votes for the candidates of her choice, reported San Antonio Express-News.

Rodriguez was arrested in January and faces four felony charges.

She was recorded in October last year by journalists working undercover for Project Veritas.

In the video, Rodriguez visits an elderly woman and appears to assist her in changing her mail ballot from Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) to Democrat challenger MJ Hegar.

Rodriguez then gave the 72-year old lady a gift bag that had a shawl. The warrant says the same type of gift bags were found at Rodriguez’s home office.

On Oct. 29, the Texas Attorney General’s office started investigating the Bexar County Elections Office.

Rodriguez said in a live stream on the show “Carpenters Apprentice” in October last year that she was just playing along with the undercover reporter.

“I don’t care again what party you are on, I’m non-partisan,” Rodriguez said. “I feel horrible about that because reality is, I lied. I lied about a lot of stuff. Just to make sure I was enticing them enough to find out what the bottom of this was. They asked for a proposal, I gave them a proposal.”

“99 percent was bs to make a sale,” Rodriguez added. “I expect people to believe me now. I’m here telling you my story, I have nothing to hide at this point.”

“It was just conversation, like the bs-ing,” Rodriguez told News4SA. “They were pulling me and I was pulling their strings that’s how I saw it. Little did I know what they were doing but I knew something was wrong and I just went with it.”

In the Project Veritas video, she also indicated she has experience in manipulating votes and boasted about her influence with elected officials in Texas who owe her “favors.”

“First, everybody who knows me directly, they know what I do for the community, they know what I do for people, but I’m not like a monster like they make me out to be,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez was charged with four felonies: election fraud, illegal voting, unlawfully possessing an official ballot, and unlawfully assisting people voting by mail—a practice known as ballot harvesting, the collection and submission mail-in ballots by a third-party rather than direct submission by the voters themselves.

She said in the video she was a “consultant” for GOP congressional candidate Mauro Garza, but was seen in one clip attempting to persuade a voter to cast a straight Democrat ballot.

“This is what you call flipping people!” she was recorded as saying, also noting that she “could go to jail” for what she did.

When Veritas founder James O’Keefe confronted the woman in public with some of the recordings, she said she didn’t want to talk and that she didn’t break any law.

There may have been some voter fraud and mistakes made in any election. But the courts have ruled over and over again (over 60 times) that there was no evidence that they were sufficient to change the election results.

People are going to jail over Trump's Stop the Steal Lies. Several people have died because of Trump's lies.

the courts mostly didn't even look at any evidence. They kicked the cases out for lack of standing, not for lack of evidence.

Start at home. No court admitted any evidence or ruled on any evidence in the 2020 election. The only person to die in the Capitol building was a unarmed girl shot by a Capitol Policeman. You can't say there wasn't enough evidence to overturn the results of the election if it was never admitted into the court.

You sure dont hear anything on this,I seen the video of it when she got shot and all she was doing was coming through a window and was unarmed. If this had been a blm or antifi person they still would be trying to throw the policemen under the jail.

So, I take it that you are OK with Biden's executive orders to:

1. Invite illegal immigrants to flood the southern border with promises of a pathway to citizenship, not allowing CBP to return illegals to Mexico immediately, stopping construction of border wall and cancelling Trump's agreements with several Central American for them to receive their citizens caught illegally entering the US.

Illegal immigration is on a fast track to set records and 6% of those currently being tested are positive for Covid. They are then being handing a bus ticket to wherever they wish to travel and dropped off at the local bus stations during the current Covid pandemic?

2. Blocking the XL pipeline, destroying some 70,000 US jobs, blocking drilling on federal lands, etc. which will make us dependent upon middle east oil and increasing cost of gasoline nearly $1/gal. already.

3. And he's just now getting around to the promises he made to counter the 2A.

That's just to name a few.

Quote:people are going to jail over Trump's Stop the Steal Lies. Several people have died because of Trump's lies.

Re-reading your post, it seems you're disagreeing with the fact that the election was stolen.

That is your right, but consider this. Trump's rallies turned out thousands of supporters at every event. Biden hid in his basement and at best may have had hundreds at his.

Trump was leading at the polls until the crapper overflowed and counting was "shut down", poll watchers told to go home and security cameras showed that counting continued on into the night unsupervised. They also showed that cases and cases of ballots were removed from under a covered table and processed in the wee hours of the morning. Camera footage also showed batches of ballots run multiple times through the machines and lo and behold the next morning Biden leads. Is that not enough to make you wonder just a little bit?

All we asked is that the courts see and hear the evidence and rule on the veracity of the election......that was never done. I think that had the courts stepped up and done their job, then ruled one way or the other folks might not agree, but as it is feel that they have been denied justice.

There is no doubt that fraud existed to some degree; just look at all of the cases listed above. They are insignificant in the scope of a national election, but combined with all the larger ones alleged...that were never considered in a court of law....would they have changed the outcome of the election; we will never know as due process was denied.

The American people deserve a free and fair election and we should all insist that the voting systems nation wide be cleaned up between now and the next election. If the individual states are satisfied with a sub-standard election system for their state and local elections, fine, but there are, and should be, minimum standards to be met by every state in national elections and they need to be strengthened, and enforced for all ballots, nation wide. Several states violated federal voting laws with impunity. Simple as that.

Regards,
hm
