Coyotes don't move when the moon is bright?

Two nights ago, sitting in a deer blind. 5 coyote come by at about 35 yards, moving at coyote trot speed. No chance for a shot as they got behind some trees on my left. Sounded like they met up with 2 other groups. 9-midnight lots of yelps, yips occasional howl. Only thing that seemed to cause any movement was a coyote in heat bark/wimper hand call I have. At about 12:30am wind changed and light snow started, the groups separated and yipped and yelped their way back to starting areas. Last night, different blind, a group opened up at sunset very close to me. They were on the other side of a pasture with bushy fencelines, couldn't see them. 1/2 hr later a large unrubbed male crossed the field in front of me. Shot him. I never called. I'm going back to the first blind tonight, going to put a coyote decoy out with urine around it see if that will get a reaction. Already have shot 7 from each of these blinds.
