Arizona Night Hunting Regulations

Looking for a little help on the AZ night hunting regulations. I have searched old forum information and found a conversation about certain zones that were legal.

I have scoured the AZ website and cannot find any information on this.

I am going to be around the Arizona strip in a couple weeks and would love to do a few night stands if this is legal and I can get the combination license in time.

Any help would be appreciated!!

A google search turned up this:

We conduct our night hunts by the AZGFD rules & regulations. This is a "coyote only" with "lights only" hunt. Night vision, thermal, scopes with illuminated reticle, and shooting & light scanning from a vehicle is "illegal" in Arizona. ... In Arizona it is "illegal" to hunt fox, bobcat, and mountain lion at night.

Here is the excerpt from the regulations on page 65 . In Arizona, night hunting is referred to as “Daylong” hunting. You will have to determine the boundaries of a particular unit to determine if night hunting is legal. Those boundaries are also listed in the regulations

All of the game units on the AZ Strip allow hunting coyotes at night with an artificial light. No night vision or thermal is allowed. The season dates are Dec 1, 2020 thru May 31, 2021.

Bobcats, fox, and other furbearers cannot be taken at night. I don't think there are raccoons on the AZ Strip, except maybe in 13B.

Here is some more info.

R12-4-304E

6. Artificial light while taking raccoon provided the light is
