Hi guys,

I am currently building a 20-250 10twist barrel and looking to shoot the 39sbk or 40vmax.

Could you guys please share your data?

powder and charge
Barrel length and twist
Bullet
Velocity

Thanks

My 20-250 is 8tw for the 55's so no direct help here, but I'm using RL16 and I'd bet that same powder would work well for the lighter bullets as well.

I believe DAA shoots the lighter bullets in his 20-250, maybe reach out to him.

Some info on a 12T here:

Hi Dave,

It’s your article that has inspired me to build a 20-250 so a thumbs up from me 👍🏻

When you tried the 39sbk what powder and charge did you use?

How did they handle the velocity?

I had to read the tutorial, never heard of the 20-250. I have enough rounds out of the mainstream, I better stick to the 22-250.

It sounds like a flat shooter for sure.

Hoped for faster, but pressure builds fast in these over bores. Shoots very well. Easy on fur too. Last year I killed a fox from 650 bang flop

I would start with starting data from a 22-250 and 45-50 gr bullet. Pressure may be higher than starting due to the smaller bore, but with current manuals with reserved numbers and a quality action, should be a good starting point.
