First hog of 2021

Went to deer hunt this evening with little hope of seeing a mature buck, but a the real possibility for a hog. I can be getting picture of them every night and occasionally in the day light. One in particular has been hanging around for about a week when I checked my camera on Wednesday. Been hunting a different stand, but went to that one this evening.

The feeder goes off at 3:30, and I was running a little behind. Less that a minute after closing the door on the blind the feeder went off. Almost immediately, he stepped out and went to eating corn. The Creedmoor barked and he died with only a faint squeal.

I had noticed from pictures that he had a big knot on his right front leg, and was rail thin with hips and backbone protruding.

I skinned out the front leg, and the knot had splinted bone. I am guessing he had been shot before.

The first for 2021, but judging by the pics on the camera, it will only be the first of many.
