Hog hunting Florida???

My son drove to Florida from Maine to hang out with a Army friend he was in Afghanistan with. They planed on hunting the Apalachicola National Forest for hogs and coyote. But he said its loaded with people hunting with dogs cant seem to get clear of people. Knowing what I know about hogs if there is alot of pressure they can be very difficult to successfully hunt.
Can any of you recommend a area where he and one other could hunt? Public or privet? He dont need shelter he has that covered. His buddy lives in the Destin area but they are willing to travel.

There are numerous WMA hunting areas within an hour drive from Destin. He will need to become familiar with each WMA with regard to hunting regs and areas especially with the Covid changes. Day hunting only in the WMA areas but all of them have plenty of hogs. (Night hunting is only allowed on private land). Locating the hogs will be the issue but hog sign is pretty easy to identify. Also, there is no dropping corn or baiting allowed on WMA land. WMA hunting is subject to seasonal hunting regulations but hog and coyote hunting is allowed 24/7 all year in FL on PRIVATE land.

We are pretty much covered up with coyotes here because not many people hunt them that I am aware of.

I assume they have a 4WD vehicle which is needed in a lot of areas.

If he stays until it gets warmer I would suggest he go to Bass Pro in Destin and pick up a pair of snake boots. You said he came down from Maine so he may not be aware that any place he is likely to kill hogs will also have water moccasins and rattle snakes just to name a couple.

Eglin AFB ......450k acres along the Gulf Coast. He will need to go to the Jackson Guard office located on Hwy 85 in Niceville, FL. He can get a permit there and a briefing for hunting on the base.
