morning hunt

This year of hunting has started very slow. Have been out 4 times, and this morning is the first to have seen something coming in. My buddy came over and we went out to one of my spots to try an early morning call. On the third sound this nice Red Fox came in and my buddy shot it at 75yds with a 20 Practical. First one down for the season. We need more snow, to hopefully make them more hungry. As stated very, very slow for me.

Do you have a good population of gray fox in your area? We used to back in the seventies in n Ill. but coyotes got them all. Been wanting one and trying to not to have to go way east.

The fox numbers are not what they use to be. When the coyotes moved in the numbers went down.

Thanks guys for looking and reading.

That is a fine looking fox! Good job. Has been a slow start for me too, but have some new leads and winter storm coming in. Hopefully things pick up.
