I live in Minnesota and have killed several bobcats over hounds but now I think I’d like to call 1 in. The cover in northern Minnesota is woods and swamp. I’m wondering if any of you guys from the colder climates ever call for them and any little tricks that could help?
 
Dont know about up your way Decoyed, but down here in NW Georgia we call them in regularly while yote hunting. Rodent in distress or fawn in distress at low volume works rather well. We just watch them being curious and they come right up to the caller and look at it before walking on. Last winter we called in 3 in one night.
 
I wish it worked that easy here. We have cats but they are spread out. We also have to deal with all those awesome wolves our liberals won’t let us hunt. I’ve tried calling where they logged an area that has brush piles or along creeks but nothing called in to date. I know relentless pursuit is what it takes and at some point it will happen
 
Last cat I called was a cutover in the Isabella area. But that was about 5 years ago. She came to a syco tweety call. I had an old fox tail hanging as a distraction.

That was before the wolf population explosion.
 
Not colder climate, but they hang out in the thickest cover around and don't like to get far from cover. High pitched bird distress works best here and a decoy is helpful, as well.

If you have bobcats around where you are, there are probable five times more of them than you think there is.

I get lots of bobcat pictures and videos on my Trail Cameras and I don't see them all that often during the day.

To call them in you need to set up your calling stand pretty close to a bobcat. Bobcats don't run up to your calling from a mile away or more like coyotes do.
