As usual I inform you about the latest news. These 2 new thermal scanners have the same highly sensitive 384x288 sensor with NETD < 40 mK°. (Incidentally this makes me a little angry .... why didn't Pulsar use this wonderful sensor in the Thermion XQ50 ???).
Particularly interesting for you American night hunters is the Pulsar Helion 2 XQ38F model. It could have an affordable price .... It has a minimum magnification of 3x and also has a good FOV 10.7°x8° (incredibly coinciding with that of the Bering Hogster-35) only slightly less wide than the much more expensive top of the range Helion 2 XP50 (mag. 2.5X and FOV 12.4°x9.3°).
Finally, I would like to point out an interesting technical detail: the new Pulsar Helion 2 XQ38F (mag. 3X and FOV 10.7°x8°) has an F35/1.0 lens with a slightly shorter focal length (35mm) but with a brighter aperture (1.0) than the compact equivalent Pulsar Axion XQ38 (mag. 3.5X and FOV 9.8°x7.4°) which has F38/1.2 lens.

However, I remain of the opinion that the Bering Hogster-35 (mag. 2X and FOV 10.7°x8°) is a more versatile choice.
