Time for the nra to go.

If not the NRA, then what? If Trump looses, Heaven forbid!!!!!!!!!!, we are in for a Tough, Tough time!
We can hang together or we can hang separately. Every organization can have problems, but I support the NRA 100%.

Im not an election year troll and i agree the NRA has huge problems with upper managements use of funds and exploration of their positions.
They just need a good housr cleaning and get back to the intended goal.

The N.R.A. is entitled to it's day in court crapshoot. The NRA is also entitled to 'an assumption of innocence' as would be the case with any individual or entity accused of a crime. The NRA is also entitled to a 'fair and impartial trial'. It's doubtful the NRA will receive one from Letitia James, a liberal Democrat from New York who has repeatedly vowed to destroy the NRA and your gun rights. Letitia James has no interest in restructuring the NRA and letting it "get back to the intended goals". The following is from the Fox News article, please read it.

The National Rifle Association is fighting back against a lawsuit filed Thursday by New York’s attorney general by submitting its own civil suit against the state official, accusing her of defamation and violating its rights to free speech.

The NRA’s lawsuit was filed in the federal court of New York and alleges Attorney General Letitia James “made the political prosecution of the NRA a central campaign theme” when she was running for the AG’s office in 2018, and has not treated the association fairly since.

“Despite hopes that playing by the rules would procure a just outcome, the NRA has not been treated fairly by James’s office,” the 19-page suit states. “The New York Democratic Party political machine seeks to harass, defund, and dismantle the NRA because of what it believes and what it says.”

The defamation allegations stem from James' public descriptions of the NRA as a "criminal enterprise" and "a terrorist organization."

“James boasted that she would strike foul blows against the NRA and pound the NRA into submission. She vowed that she would use the NYAG’s investigative and enforcement powers for the precise purpose of stanching political speech (‘deadly propaganda),” the lawsuit states. “She has begun to deliver on her campaign promises to retaliate against the NRA for constitutionally protected speech on issues that James opposes. As NYAG, James has regrettably succumbed to ‘individual passions, and individual malevolence.’”

President Trump also slammed James’ suit against the group, calling it “a very terrible thing.”

“I think the NRA should move to Texas and lead a very good and beautiful life. And I’ve told them that for a long time. I think they should move to Texas – Texas would be a great state or to another state of their choosing – but I would say that Texas would be a great place and an appropriate place for the NRA.”

James sued the NRA, which is headquartered in Fairfax, Va., in an effort to dissolve the gun-rights group “for years of self-dealing and illegal conduct,” she announced Thursday.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, alleges that the NRA “diverted millions of dollars away from its charitable mission for personal use by senior leadership.” She further slammed the association for what she called “years of self-dealing and illegal conduct that violate New York’s charities laws and undermine its own mission.”

The 166-page lawsuit names four NRA executives, including CEO Wayne LaPierre, as defendants.

FIRST-TIME GUN OWNERSHIP SKYROCKETS AMID RIOTS, INCREASED VIOLENCE ACROSS COUNTRY: 'YOU CAN'T REALLY BE TOO SAFE'

“Contrary to his statutory duties of care, loyalty and obedience to the mission of the charity, LaPierre has undertaken a series of actions to consolidate his position; to exploit that position for his personal benefit and that of his family; to continue, by use of a secret “poison pill contract,” his employment even after removal and ensuring NRA income for life; and to intimidate, punish, and expel anyone at a senior level who raised concerns about his conduct,” the attorney general's lawsuit states.

James' office teased what it said would be a “major announcement” in an email sent out Tuesday night.

James said the actions of the accused quartet “contributed to the loss of more than $64 million in just three years for the NRA.”

While the lawsuit accuses all four men of wrongdoing and seeks fines and remuneration, none of them have been charged with a crime.

In turn, NRA President Carolyn Meadows responded by calling the lawsuit a “baseless, premeditated attack” on the group and the Second Amendment.

“You could have set your watch by it: the investigation was going to reach its crescendo as we move into the 2020 election cycle,” Meadows said. “It’s a transparent attempt to score political points and attack the leading voice in opposition to the leftist agenda.”

She further called the suit “a desperate move that is part of a rank political vendetta.”

“This has been a power grab by a political opportunist,” she said. “Our members won’t be intimidated or bullied in their defense of political and constitutional freedom … we not only will not shrink from this fight – we will confront it and prevail.”

Also on Thursday, Washington D.C. District Attorney Karl Racine announced his office was suing the NRA Foundation for “misusing charitable funds.” He has been investigating the NRA Foundation for more than a year.

“Donors gave money to fund firearms safety, firearms education and marksmanship training,” Racine alleged. “Instead, that money was diverted to support wasteful spending by the NRA and its executives.”

In a statement provided to Fox News, a spokesperson for the National Shooting Sports Foundation, a guns-trade group, said the association was "troubled" by James' decision, which he called "politically-driven."

In the lawsuit, spokesperson Mark Oliva said, "James seeks to punish the over five million members of the National Rifle Association based on mere allegations of possible wrongdoing by a few individuals."

"NSSF is deeply concerned about the apparent political agenda to silence the strongest voice in support of the Second Amendment ahead of the election in November," Oliva added. "This lawsuit, and one filed today by the District of Columbia Attorney General, should concern all Americans who cherish both the First and Second Amendments to our Constitution regardless of their views on what laws and regulations are appropriate to address the criminal misuse of firearms.

The NRA is under attack because its the one organization the anti gunners fear. I would expect that Wayne and the others have been dotting I's and crossing T's right along as this has been going on in some form since the 60's. This is also an attempt to discourage donations from members. It costs a lot to defend our freedoms, and it costs money to raise money. No lobbyist from any organization goes to Congress or the White House in a J.C. Penny suit. Its the best we have and we need to support it NOW and if it needs another house cleaning it can come after the election. This is the BIG ONE, and any gun owner that doesn't support the NRA is just helping Bloomberg bury us. We saw what happened in Virginia, lets not lose the whole country over petty disagreements.

Absolutely worth repeating^^^. Have been an NRA member (annual since 1952, Life in 1962, currently Benefactor) all of my adult life, supporting financially as dictated by my budget at the time & volunteer (20 years each FONRA and Approved NRA HP match director) and I guarantee that we are all enjoying numerous 2nd Amendment rights that, not for NRA, would have perished years ago!

This DA's campaign was heavily supported by Soros. She ran on a platform to destroy the NRA and is proceeding to divide and conquer, typical of the progressive MO.

If there has been any funds misappropriated as claimed, let the chips fall where they may, and I'll help chop the kindling for the tar pot, but don't throw the baby out with the bath water and let due process sort things out.

Regards,
hm

a democrat with a hitory of stating that she's going to take the NRA down, who now makes unproven allegations, is reason that the entire org must go?

No

Several election cycles ago a shooter I know was approached by a candidate for state legislator, a (D).

He asked for my friends support and vote in the upcoming election. He was told "....all w/ a (D) behind their name must go this time."

Id say that is also due this time and probably all others unless some MAJOR party changes occur and that is unlikely.

Are the (R)s perfect--absolutely NOT. But w/ our so called 2 party system they are better.

Until very recently I never got to vote for most candidates but rather voted against a whole gaggle, every 2 and 4 years.
And if you didnt vote in the primary-shame on you. Around here most positions are filled at the primary.

It has perplexed me since 1980 (my first presidential election vote) why any gun owner would vote at anytime for a democrat. No democrat representative has ever voted for individual freedoms or self governing beliefs. And now their true colors Marxism, socialism, communism are forged together(democrats) to attempt to topple the greatest country civilization has ever known.

they never go after the company because of a few corrupt people, only the N.R.A. because she is a liberal. if they did something wrong they need to be punished. but we need to support the N.R.A. as a whole they are important in the fight to save our rights, rights that should not not even be in question. they break their oath of office when they do because they swear to defend the whole constitution.

she made allegations against 4 people in the NRA leadership.

Four

people.

Right now these are merely allegations. Unproven. If they have evidence & can prove them, the correct approach is to deal with the offenders.

That's not what she wants. She wants to dissolve the entire NRA.

This is political as all get out, don't fall for it.

The NRA is the 800 lb gorilla & the left needs to take us out if they can.

They need to fail, period.

The NRA has the scope that we wish the GOA had, and the GOA has the focused intensity that we wish the NRA really had.

We need both.

There are the GUN OWNERS OF AMERICA and the committee to keep and bear arms.

Even if you are NRA you should also belong to one of the others, your state Orgn and a local club so you have a place to go shooting. If in VA the VCDL is a wonderful group. Wish we had something like it, amd about 15 other states.

The only thing wrong w/ GOA is that it needs about another million members. No multi million $$ employees of GOA.
