50,000 dollar reman engine

This is one of the more expensive engines I've ever been around repairs with even though there are far more costly ones.
It is 13 litre Iveco around 500 hp and weighs 3000 lbs. Pretty sure they make them up to 20 litres. Surprising that multiple manufacturers from several countries making up the company can get along this well.
The engine came out of a late model combine that can easily go over $600,000.

A new engine for my 1953 airplane would cost that..air cooled, 520 inches carbureted 300 hp at 2700 rpm.
I’m hoping I don’t need one, for a long time!
