Grand slam elevation adj broke

My new 2-8 was clicking along just fine then it free wheels for about 3/4 of a turn in one spot. Anyone ever see this issue?
 
Had same happen to a Super Slam, brass i side just sheared right off...it was from Natchez if that helps at all...im pretty aure they sell some sort of repop or refurb. I was extremely disappointed.
