Came home from Church tonight, and decided to scan the field from the window about 9:15. Lo and behold here comes a coyote up the freshly planted field. I hurried my shot and missed him at about 250 yds. He ran about 50 yds. and stopped. I double lunged him on that shot and he was DRT at 300 yds. Here is a picture.

Nice unexpected coyote. It's better to be lucky than good.
 
That first shot looked like a money shot to me. Watched it over & over, looked like a splash of blood as he started to run. Doesn’t matter #2 was the finisher !! Nice !
 
Thanks Mick, I saw that splash as well but couldn't tell he was hit on the first shot. Strange though because I would have thought in the freshly plowed and just planted field the bullet would have kicked up a pretty big dust cloud. At least I managed to recover enough to get the kill shot.

My hunting partner went last night by himself and killed another big male. I don't have his video yet, but here is a picture.
