7mm casting today

I cast a little over 200 130 grain .285 bullets today and am sizing them and setting gas checks now. I will be shooting them in a 7-30 Waters contender carbine. I will use them to fire form 30-30 brass into 7-30 Waters brass and for mildish loads. They are also great fun in my 7TCU pistol.

I have not fired up my lead pot in way to long. I would always make it an all day session. I swore I would never cast for anything smaller than a 30 caliber. Now it more like what I don’t cast for, 17,20 and 50.

Early spring so the temp. was right last week. Cool enough to hover over a pot, but warm enough to get some stuff done. .30, .38, .44 and some .44-40 stuff.

I cast a 170GC for a .30-30, but have thought about messing around with some .30-06 or .308 loads.
