FAVORITE 204 powder ???

just starting reloading wondering your recomendations for a good powder and starting point on loads have 45gr Hornady sp but open to other loads with other bullets.

IMR XBR 8208 is very good from 32 to 40 gr. bullets. I haven't tried it with 45 gr. though.

I use CF&E 223. Going on 4 years in 204 Ruger. Works great and FPS is right up there. Never had a problem with temps from -29 to 90 degrees. I don't load hot and get 4000 fps with most bullets. I have never loaded 45 gr. bullets though. Lots of 40 gr.

+1. My load is the same in a bolt Savage and an AR with 35 Bergers pushed pretty hard.

Works great with 45's also.

I am using H4895 with 35gr Berger hp. With the Sierra 39gr bking RL10.

I just bought a bunch of IMR-8208, but have used TAC in the past in the 204.
