My .22-250 AI really likes the 73 gr ELDM's, but I can't help but try the 75gr ELDM's since their BC is about .70 higher.

I think I can use the data I have off my 73gr, but of course work up carefully.

I've got plenty of H4350 for now, but I did buy a few lbs of StaBall 6.5 that shows promise. It worked really well with 69gr TMK's, but call me cheap, I don't like spending $30/box when I can sometimes get Hornady seconds for pretty cheap.

Anybody use any of these powders in their .22-250AI with 75gr bullets? Just want a place to start.

Thanks.

Nevermind.

I went out and loaded up 5 each of 37.5, 38.0, and 38.5 of H4350 and 37.0, 37.5, 38.0 and 38.5 of StaBall 6.5 and shot them in that order. . . except I didn't get past 38.0gr of H4350. HA.

I shot a 4 shot 200yd group at .72" and a called flyer that stretched it out to 1.5". I'm going to load up 10 more of them and check SD and ES and see how they group again at 300 and see how the vertical stringing looks. The first group was .38" top to bottom total so I think the velocity is fairly consistent.

You have to be in 3400 fps range with full pressure 22-250 AI load and 75 gr bullet. I shot 40 grs of IMR4831 and it's 3400 and change. Since I have an 8 lber of it figured why not... a little more temp sensitive but it's paid for and just sitting on the shelf! Getting .5-.7 MOA grps so all is good.

Sounds like a shooter.

So did you go ahead and shoot the 6.5 Staball, or no? Just curious about results with the new powder.
