Saw two coyotes skirting me again at 1209 yds.
Thinking where they were headed, I buzzed over to the same rocky draw and made a few handcall sounds.
About when I was giving up they walked into the opening.
I put one to rest at 254 yds with the .22-250.

Did something new and tricked in two but only got one at 177 yds, second pic at dark tonight. Almost bit it's tongue off from hit.

Called a little before light and it was only a few minutes when I thought I saw movement.
Could barely see it in my scope and let r rip.
Was worried it may get back in the rye grass before setting my crosshair on it.
Might be it for the day with the rain and wind. will check later.

Looks like it's warming up a bit the way you're getting out & stackin' em up, Mark. Good shooting.

Whacked one of two at daylight just now. Skylined on rocky spine
Engaged safety and put gun down. Here comes the other one back.
Whacked it and it ran about 40 yds.
Six deer trotted down sniffing around, not for long and they hauled out of sight.
Exciting start today.

Thanks hm, Was able to get one more making this a three dog day so far.
Got cold and hungry 15 mph wind, rain, 36 deg at lunch time. Must be why the coyotes are falling for my tricks.
This coyote hunting is miserable and to think I'm sticking with it.

Called awhile this morning and things weren't looking promising. Thought I had worn out this tune here.
Actually dozed off, woke up peeked out one eye and there was a coyote staring at me.
As I lifted my gun it spun around but too late , whammo!
It fell conveniently between these three rocks. Maybe not a big deal, just have never seen such a thing ever.

How many others have awakened suddenly to see a critter (deer, coyote, whatever) staring at you up close and personal. I've often wondered if hunters may have a long lost 6th sense? Hmmmm.

That fur sure looking good.
