DIY call tripod

I could not find a cheap tripod that I liked, or that I thought would hold up so I made my own. 12" tall. It is a little heavy at 1.8 lbs but it should handle just about any abuse we throw at it.
3/8" iron rod (1/4" would have been lighter but I did not have any on hand) for the legs and steel plate for the pivot hinges and top.

I use Shepard hooks.

I do pretty much the same as REID, though I added a small piece of 1x6 to spread the load over the bottom of the call and a short cross piece on the stake to add in removal.

I use a hard bottom camo carry bag with a shoulder strap to carry my Foxpro, speaker, 12 volt battery, extra gloves, shotgun ammo, decoy and hand calls. I have cardboard boxes in it to make dividers to keep the caller, speaker and battery from flopping around.

I just set the Foxpro and speaker on top of the camo bag and that gets them about 8" off the ground and that is high enough for what I want.

While using a shotgun I don't want my caller to be in plain sight. When I can I hide my caller in rocks, grass or behind a bush so the coyotes can not see it easily. From what I have seen more coyotes will run right up to my caller if they can't see it sticking out like a sore thumb.

The more my Foxpro is hidden or blends in, it helps get the coyotes closer to me.
