Ok guys
Been loading since 1981 , from 223-300wsm
My last 22-250 I had was in the early 90’s a 788
2 yrs ago I had a house fire and lost all my records on my reloading so just getting back In the groove
Powders on hand
Hybrid 100 H4350 H4831 Imr 3031 Imr 4227 varmint reloaded 7&17 h322 tax exterminator big game hunter and magnum
Bullet weights from 50-60 hp vmax etc 62 Fmj nothing heavier but can get
Gun is a tikka T3 24” does not say twist
Cci primers
Guys give me a couple ideas for an accurate load out of that gun, haven’t had that long a barrel varmint gun for ever
Thanks
Thanks

Go get some varget, imr 4064, or rl-15 load a couple grains off max and work up it'll shoot somewhere in there. Seat the bullet .020 off the lands.

I've had great results with the the Ramshot big game you have on hand coupled with Nosler ball tip, sierra blitzking, berger, all 55g's. The Noslers shooting the best with that powder, in 2 different barrels. My go to 22-250 load is 55 Sierra blitzkings and Varget. Good luck!

Most Tikka .22-250 are 1-14 twist, special orders from Whitikers can be 1-8.
I don't reload but a friend does load some for my Tikka.
Sierra 50 gr Blitking best group and speed with several powders, 50 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip close second.
Sierra 55 gr Blitzking appears to be too long with marginal groups.
50 gr Vmax decent groups.
Cfe223 good powder good groups, not extreme powder.
8208 good groups and speed. Extreme powder
Ramshot Big Game good groups still testing speed.

I shoot IMR 4064 in my 220 Swift and I know it works well in the 22-250 also.

Having said that, I recently worked up a load for a buddy of mine's Kimber 22-250 and I got it dialed in on the following load:

Barnes 52 gr Match Burner
H380 39.5 gr
Fed GM210M primer
.015 off the lands

The reason I worked this load up for him was because he was getting too much damage with the load he was using on coyotes which caused him a lot of sewing time. Since using this load, he has not had to sew any of his coyotes.

In the early 70s I bought a RCBS reloading press and all the extra stuff I needed to start reloading. There was only one gun shop in the area that sold reloading equipment so I just told him get me everything I need to load 22-250...
One of the things in the pile on the counter was a pound of IMR 3031 in a Folgers coffee glass jar he weighed out of a bulk keg. 50 some years later, a bunch of 22-250s, and many pounds of 3031, it still does as good or better than anything else out there. 32 grains was about max no mater what the load data said.

I would start with the IMR 3031 you have on hand and if you're not happy with the velocity, move to another powder like Varget. Ive heard Benchmark and 4198 are good too. Im not failiar with the Accurate or Big Game Powders you have listed there so i cant weigh in there

I have used IMR 4350 with the sierra 63 grain semi pointed bullet with excellent results. With 50 and 55 grainers I used 4064, 4166 and cfe 223. I think the 4064 and 4166 were more accurate than cfe 223.

36.6 grs Imr 4831 with 75-80 gr bullets shoots real well if you ve got enough twist. It's a Sierra accuracy load in older manual and with 80 s.
