Female whimpers on a closed or open reed call?

Watched some whimpers on youtube and was wondering if it can be done on calls other than the [beeep] and Primos. Have a couple of open and closed reed calls but can't seem to get it correct. Looking for thoughts or suggestions. Thanks!

Most any open reed call should be able to produce whimpers. Every open reed I own will do it, some better then others and some are easier then others

I use open reeds regularly with success.
Randy Anderson Lil Dog, 2 Zepp.s calls, 1 custom call from here.
Not too difficult, like tying shoes once you get it.
