17 hmr for bobcats?

15.5gr Hornady NTX lead free @ about 50 yards. Threaded the bullet through a window in the brush as it stood it's front legs on a limb to peek at me. Double lung no exit. Scrambled about 15 yards before expiring. Took almost 30 min to crawl into the brush on my hands and knees in the dark first to the point of impact and then to track the blood trail to the body. 15 lb young female, medium size for this area, rarely see one much over 20 lbs. I've taken a few bobcats with 17gr Vmax without any issues but this was the first with the 15.5gr lead free.

Congrats! I like the 17 rimfires for bobcats and fox. I use a 17 WSM which gives me a little more "oomph" if I have a coyote within about 150.

Great report thanks.
I picked up my first .17 wsm a couple months ago. I have had a good time playing with it so far, our cat season opens the 21'st and that is what I bought it for.

Looks like that NTX did a number on his shoulder. How is the accuracy with that load? Good job on that.
