I was reading some threads and got linked over to a website that sells a battery unit for the Trigicon thermal scopes and I happened to find what they call an Enhanced Eyeguard Retention Ring. It screws into the eyepiece once you remove the demist ring and it extends out to give support to the rubber shuttered eyeguard.
I use the eyeguard on all of my Trijicon units to eliminate light splash and protect my eye from scope cuts due to recoil. I added a little security with a cable tie cinched down behind the retention ring. I also noticed it aids in fully opening the small rubber shutters inside the eyepiece when you push against it to look through the scope.
I installed them on both scopes and my M300W scanner/scope which will soon see double duty on a new 6.8SPC SBR build. I give it a thumbs up for function and design so far without a field test.
