A very thought provoking post... sad, and thought provoking.

My son was about 12 when he shot his first buck. We were sharing a two-man treestand and we were on our own property. As we were taking pictures, I stopped the action and looked him right in the eye and told him to pause and really soak in the moment... the sights, the smell, etc., as someday I was afraid he might not have the opportunity to experience his son's first deer harvest.

I did the same thing about a year later 25 miles out in the Gulf of Mexico when after 20 minutes of fighting, he landed a 52" Wahoo in the presence of a large Navy ship that had pulled up along side us to warn us a Sea Stallion was inbound dragging a pipe line and we were in the path. About 10 sailors cheered and clapped when I gaffed the Wahoo... it gave me chills and we both remember it to this day as if it happened yesterday.

My son is grown, married, and off in the military... we talk of these two times fondly. "Our" way of life is under attack.

The whole point of the lead ban is the way to walk gun limiting laws around the constitution. Same as the 10+ magazine ban or an "assault weapon ban", the Democrats have learned that with a layer of federal judges and politicians at the local level the Constitution is just a piece of paper. When you cannot change hunting and trapping regulations because your argument is weak or or not factual, then ban fur products, put a tax on ammo, regulate gun ranges out of business. Sportsman allowed these in one way or another because we "accepted a compromise". A changing of Constitutional and individual rights is the end goal, has been since the 70's.

CA lawmakers DID ban all trapping and all bobcat hunting with zero facts/science and only weak emotional arguments. Already been done.

At 63 I want to enjoy hunting as much as possible until the old man wins. Guess I'll have to do most of it in Nevada where I won't have to look over my shoulder. Grizz

The election of Donald Trump was the first act of civil disobedience. More is coming as people are waking up to the fact that slick politicians and city dwellers are trying to change the lives of Americans who are the backbone of our culture.

I see many gun laws being deemed unconstitutional in coming years. Our constitutional rights have been violated for years by liberal judges but the tide is turning.

Back in the 1960s, a school mate of mine brought his 12 gauge shotgun to shop class to work on it and no one said a word about that. We were in 7th or 8th grade at the time. Mr. Mackey (shop teacher) didn't freak out and neither did any of the other teachers, principle or students. We thought nothing about what Joe did that day. We didn't have any idiots going around doing mass shootings and the news media didn't broadcast any mass shootings all over the airwaves giving other idiots the idea that they too could make the headlines if they went out and shoot people at the mall or theater.

Back in the 1960s I could take my 12 gauge shotgun out in the back yard and shoot towards the South of my parent's house and not hit anything for a mile. There were no homes and it was a huge cornfield at that time. Now there are 10 different homes and the farmer died and sold his farm for development.

Guys. This problem goes WAY beyond just predator hunting. America is losing it's mind. We have one half of our population voting for people that believe:

There is more than one gender
Drugs should be legal
Guns are bad and should be outlawed
It is okay to kill babies in their mothers womb
Sodomy is a civil right
Socialism / communism is a good thing
People have a right to free college, healthcare, ect..

I could go on and on. But, this country is being judged by God for turning it's back on the truth. It will only get worse. We are living in a dystopia that I would have never imagined 30 years ago.

America will not survive. We have stage 4 cancer.
