Coyote Smack Down

I was doing some scouting this afternoon and saw a coyote mousing in a field of freshly picked soybeans. Unfortunately he was too far for a shot and the field roads were wet enough from last night's rains that I couldn't get any closer to him. We decided to go back right at dark, and try to beat the moon coming up early. I called about 30 seconds and out he popped. He looked like he wasn't coming any closer so I smacked him at 120 yds.

Unfortunately I had not turned on my dvr, so I didn't get any video of the kill. My hunting partner doesn't know for sure if he got it or not. I'll have to wait to hear from him. This coyote sure was furred up heavy for no more cold weather than we've had. It was about a 30 lb. male I would guess weight wise. Pretty fur on him. We heard some about 600 yds. away but they wouldn't cross the open field and we didn't have time to reposition with the moon coming up.
