how big of hole does a 308 need to be in a .308 suppressor? i just went 20 thousand over..but shot good first few then went to flopping over end or something.

We have found that 0.060in over is about right. Any bigger and you lose suppression. Any smaller and you risk a baffle strike. Check and see if the bullet struck a baffle or your end cap.

i believe when i was building the directions said minimum +0.040 and recommended around the +0.060 like snowman suggested.

i drilled my 30 cal baffles to 0.375 bore because i didnt have a standard number/letter set, but a 3/8" drill bit is easy to come by (.375"). so i went +0.068.

i get great suppression, even when shooting smaller calibers through it. i have some mouse fart loads for my blackout that make my suppressed pellet rifle sound loud.

YMMV
