Looking for a new scope to put on my 308 in ffp trying to find more info on Nikon black fx1000 scopes. All the reviews I can find are from last year nothing recent. Looking for more update reviews on the scope. Anyone using one likes dislike. The scope will be used for hunting and target shooting 300 on animals out to 800 on steel. I don’t care to much for the Christmas tree reticle.

Thanks Rick M

Dont know much about them, like you I didnt find much recent info....it was one of my considerations when choosing for my 6.5 build.
I ended up going with. Burris XTR II 4-20×50. Alot of info on them and a decent warranty, also supposed to be built well with excellent tracking.

They are having good sales on them right now. $200.00 instant rebate most anywhere. I just ordered the SFP version for $299.00 Free Shipping from Midsouth yesterday. I love all 6 of my Nikons from cheap on up. The FFP version is $499 I think from them.

Just a heads up, Nikon did change their warranty as of September 9th:

From Nikon:

We wanted to make you aware of a change that will take place regarding Nikon Inc.’s Sport Optics product warranty program. After review, we have decided to make some program adjustments that will require changes to in-store, online and other marketing materials.

PROGRAM CHANGE: Nikon Inc.’s product warranty is changing from the current product warranty to the following:
Lifetime limited warranty for the optical system of Binoculars, Fieldscopes and Riflescopes;
Seven-year limited warranty for non-optical system components of Binoculars, Fieldscopes and Riflescopes;
One-year limited warranty for electrical components of Binoculars, Fieldscopes and Riflescopes.

The Five-year limited warranty on all components for Rangefinder and Red Dot/Reflex sight products remains the same.

Please note that going forward we are ending our No-Fault Repair Policy. Therefore, the new warranty program will not apply to any SRO product that is subjected to misuse, alteration or accident or for damage caused from unauthorized replacement parts, will require consumer proof of purchase from an authorized dealer/reseller and will not be transferable from one consumer to another.

I heard that Nikon did change their warranty. I have a 4.5-16 that is having some warranty work done it it. Do to a clip that bike off inside the scope as you zoom in and out it scratches the lens. Last I heard it’s covered covered and nothing else. I have been looking at other scopes.
