Went to check feeders and cameras Saturday morning. I carried the creedmore again. I had a sounder run off a couple of bucks from the feeder when they came in. I lined up the biggest sow (which wasn't very big) and shot her through the ear at 100 yards.
Loaded her up and headed to the other stand. On the way over, I saw some hogs on a high line. Ranged the biggest at 273 yards. Checked my chart and it said .9 mils for 250 and 1.3 mils for 300. I dialed 1 mil and steady on the sticks. She dropped in her tracks shot right through the shoulder. The 143 grain eldx is proving itself.
This sow was plumb poor, I guess due to head and having those pigs on her, although they were too big now to still be on her.
I would like to get a shot at something in the 400 yard range now.
