I tried out the rounds I made in a my standard dies today all fed and shot fine. I can see they scraped going in though. My Lyman checker gauge came today. I save a few I fired rounds to try in it. A couple were a little snug right at the base but went all the way in the checker. What really got me is most of the expanded, fired casings also went all the way in the Lyman checker gauge. I had a couple fired casings stop not even a piece of paper thickness before bottoming out. I take it I have a pretty tight chamber. Even though the unfired rounds went all the way in the checker gauge and a couple were a little hesitant to drop out I'll make the switch to sizing with my Small base die set when it arrives.
Here's the spent casings...wget do you think of the scratching? Still to big in diameter IMO I'm guessing even though they functioned properly.
