I got invited on a turkey hunting trip in Kansas this year in SE Kansas.

Really neat place loaded with deer and turkey. I got a nice tom the first evening I hunted with a load of Winchester XX magnum 6's.

10 inch bear, and 1 1/8 and 1 1/4 spurs.

Earlier in the day I spotted a coyote it a field and when a cow ran at him he went into the woods. I sat down and started making dying sounds on my turkey diaphragm and about 30 seconds later he was came right in. First shot had him spinning and hurt, second finished him off.

CONGRATS on a really fine turkey. That bird has some vivid colors on him. Is that considered an eastern turkey or should I say what species is it?

Did you kill the coyote with the #6 shot?

Eastern as far as I know. Only a few miles from MO line. They think they may have some hybrids since there is some variations in colors from bird to bird.

Coyote was with the 6 shot.
